Background[]
According to Gabriel, he traveled through time into the future and witnessed Michael, most likely in his true vessel (Dean), killing Lucifer, most likely in his true vessel (Sam), as well. He told Kali this, saying, "I skipped ahead, saw how the story ends". His being would've been erased out of existence when Sam and Dean altered the future.
