Maggie, possibly Maggie Campbell, is a character mentioned in The Winchesters. Maggie was Mary's cousin who was killed while on a hunt, and her death is one of the reasons Mary wants to get away from hunting.

History[]

Pre-series[]

Maggie was born around 1953.^[1] Maggie and Mary were close like sisters. Like Mary, Maggie was raised as a hunter.^[2] She was also close to Latika. The two women bonded a lot and spent time with each other.^[3]

Maggie was killed by a vampire in 1971. Her death deeply affected Mary, and is a driving force for why Mary wants to get out of hunting.^[2]

Season 1[]

A demon taunts Mary about Maggie's death. Latika later tells Mary that Maggie's death wasn't Mary's fault. While searching a cemetery, John asks Mary about Maggie, and she tells him about her.^[2] Much later, when Latika was looking for a bracelet they needed to help set John free, a shadow spirit embedded in the bracelet took the form of Maggie.^[3]

• Bracelet of Erebus - Sometime while she was alive, Maggie acquired one of the bracelets Erebus, the god of secrets and shadows, created for his followers to reveal their enemies' secrets. When Betty wore the bracelet, it indicated which people were possessed by the Akrida by making her see green lights in the sky over their heads. However, the bracelet had to be worn by particular people. According to the lore Lata found, "Whosoever wears this bracelet must be pure of heart. If they harbor a dark secret of their own, shadow spirits embedded in the bracelet will force the wearer to reveal that secret, or the shadows will consume them." Maggie hid the bracelet with her Toastettes stash in a tin that used to contain rat poison. Mary was surprised Maggie never told her about the bracelet.

Trivia[]

• Maggie's surname has not been revealed; since she's a hunter, she's likely from Mary's father's side, so her surname could be Campbell.
• In Masters of War, Mary finds a box of postcards under Maggie's bed that Maggie had written two bad things and one good thing from the corresponding hunt on the back of. Mary speculates that this must be how Maggie always saw past the darkness, even with hunting.
• In the same episode, it's mentioned that Maggie had several Donny Osmond posters in her room.
• In You've Got a Friend, Lata reveals that sometime before Maggie's death, the two of them went to see Alice Cooper at the Cowtown Ballroom. Carlos was upset to learn the two of them went to see Alice without him.
• In the same episode, Lata mentioned that Maggie was obsessed with Toastettes.
