Ruby Wedding Vintage Style

Hello and happy Friday! It's the end of another working week and I'm hoping for a bit of a relaxing weekend to unwind and recharge.  Recently I was asked by a friend of a friend if I would make a card for a Ruby Wedding anniversary.

The brief I received was 'accents of ruby' (standard) and 'something simple'.....umm.....simple? I asked my friend if this person was familiar with my work and was told yes.....well that left me scratching my head a bit I can tell you lol!

Simple my work is not, so I must admit that for  a long while Mr Mojo went on an extended vacation whenever I thought about working on this card.  In the end my  card is not really 'simple' but I guess for me it has an air of simplicity about it.

I used the following products on my card

Summer Vibes Mini Album

I'm late sharing my make for the new challenge over at Deep Ocean Challenge blog, as I wanted to get this video made first and time and the weather have been against me.

Anyway here it is, our theme is

Summer

so I decided to use these gorgeous papers from the 6 x 6 Summer Vibes paper pad by Simple Stories and make another mini album.

This one is quite small and fairly simple, very suitable for a beginner if that's what you're looking for this is the one for you.

For those of you who have trouble viewing videos, there are a couple of photos below.

Gothica Notebook

Oh my, I nearly missed my post for Little Darlings Rubber Stamps DT inspirations. I had scribbled all my dates down and I thought I'd put the 28th and it was the 26th, so I totally had to rush out something quick this morning, the glue isn't quite dry on this make lol!

So being short on time I used some great products to make a quick fun project.

I'd picked up a small cheap notebook (I think it cost me around £1.50 at most, it may have been less) in a supermarket stationery section, with a view to decorating it, so I grabbed that, the lovely Gothica stamp from the Saturated Canary Girl Power range by LDRS, some of my favourite Fika papers from Maja Design and some LDRS and C.C Designs dies.

This is what I made.

Gothica is coloured with my Distress Ink markers and I've inked all my edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I cropped Gothica a little and sprinkled some frantage araound her (it's ages since I used Frantage!)
I layered up my paper and die cuts and finished off with some pearls and seam binding from the Ribbon Girl.

I'm fairly happy with the way it turned out and it was super fast!

Hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday! :) xx

Say Cheese Mini Album Video

Just putting this up for those who prefer to view a video direct from my blog rather than following the YouTube link.

This mini album can be found for sale in my Etsy store.
Don't forget to check out this post where I'm giving one of my mini albums away!

Happy crafting! :) xx

Say Cheese!

Warning! Photo heavy post.
Hello, I hope you're all having a great weekend and apologies for being rather absent lately. I've been super busy as we're house hunting currently and a lot of my free time has been sucked up searching for suitable houses, arranging viewings etc. Still when we eventually find the right place at least I will have a dedicated craft room yay!!

I have another mini album to share today. This one uses the fantastic paper pad from Simple Stories 'Say Cheese'. I love, love, love this paper collection. I had such a lot of fun making this mini and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Love this paper collection!

I've tried to show various pages but it's impossible to show all the flip out pages, interactive parts and photo mats etc in photographs.

For a really clear idea of this album's design, watch the video linked below.

The only thing I hate about mini albums is trying to photograph them, it's sooooo hard, and no way to show all the photo mats and interactive stuff. SO ....if you want to see more, please check out the video on my YouTube channel, and really, please do because it took me about 10 tries to get it right  as I kept missing a page or running out of time lol!

I used the following items from Dies to Die for

(Ignore the picture of the stamps, this is the link to the 6 x 6 paper pad I used in this mini album)
(to edge my layers)

My ribbon is from the  Ribbon Girl, it's the 23 mm width.

You can find the template I used for the Mickey Mouse heads here

That's it from me today, but I'll be back soon! :) xx

Audrey

Morning everyone! It's Friday again yay! Today I'm sharing a card I was asked to make by a friend at work for her Mum.  The brief I had to work from was that she liked Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, that she loved fashion and that her favourite colours were black orange and green.

I must admit that I skipped the green as trying to put those 3 colours together really wasn't working for me on a card.

Anyway I chose the fabulous Uptown Girls Audrey Loves Her Make-Up from Stampin' Bella, perfect to fit the Audrey Hepburn part I thought. I actually used Halloween papers (just to show they're versatile lol) for the black and orange as they were the only papers I had with that colour combo. these are from the Authentique 6 x 6 'Spirited' pad and I can't find them in the store now, but you could use something like Thrilling to a similar effect, I just avoided the more Halloween prints with bats and spiders.

I coloured her with my Copics this time as I thought they suited the strong colour scheme a bit better. Man was I rusty lol! I don't think I did a bad job in the end though and I finished her dress off with some polka dots with my white Posca pen.

For the fashion part I decided to include an Eiffel Tower dies (Paris is the heart of fashion right?) and a dress form.

My friend loved it and I must admit that after struggling a bit with it I really love the way it turned out.

Ribbon and Lace are from the Ribbon Girl

Well that's all from me today, but I'll be here at the weekend with another giveaway :) xx

Mini Album Giveaway

Hello, I'm back again as promised with the first of my giveaways to celebrate my Blogversary.
2 whole years, where did that time go?!

I thought that instead of giving 1 follower a huge haul of stuff, I'd give out several different prizes for my followers. I also have some stamps and paper pads to giveaway, as well as another different style of mini album, but I thought I'd stagger it across a few days.

Anyway, here is today's giveaway and instead of taking a bunch of pics I thought I'd share a video with you. I think I will do this for the stamps and stuff also as it's always difficult to fit it all in a photograph.

Blogger won't let me upload it directly as it's 1 mb too big!

You can watch it direct on YouTube here

So as I said in the video, to win the Mini Album all you have to do is be a follower and leave me a comment. You can do this on my Blog, YouTube channel or Facebook page. For each place that you follow me you can leave a comment and gain a chance to win, so if you follow all 3 you get 3 chances, just make sure you are a follower as well as leaving me a comment to let me know.
If you would like to share this or my YouTube post I would love it, but it isn't needed in order to be eligible to win.

That's all, I'll have some more Candy for you to win over the next week, including another mini album and some fabulous rubber stamps, so keep an eye out! :) xx

PS: Just realised I hadn't given a closing date, this giveaway will close on 31st July.

Sweetheart

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend. Mine has been super busy, I have quite a few commissions to finish and my mojo has decided to go walkabout, so it's taking me twice as log to finish stuff.

We have a new challenge over at the Ribbon Girl blog, and it's super easy, 'Anything Goes with an Image'. So you can let your creativity flow as long as your project has an image on it.

For my image I used the incredibly pretty Sweetheart, drawn by Krista Smith and available here from Saturated Canary. She comes in a set of 9 digis at less than you would pay (here anyway) for a single rubber stamp. Bargain! Especially as every digi in that pack is just wonderful. So please people, buy your digis from the source, don't download suspect 'free' digis from Pinterest.

I decided to use these beautiful papers from Michele Roo Designs with her and coloured her with my distress ink markers to match.  I am sooooo in love with this paper collection, I even used it to completely decorate the inside of my card as you can see below. The collection is called Designer Grunge isn't it just fabulous? Love every sheet in this set.

I used the following Ribbon Girl goodies on my project.

Well that's all from me today. don't forget to check out the rest of my teams gorgeous makes, as usual we have 2 fantastic prizes, a voucher for

and for

I should be back later today with the first of my Candy giveaways for my Blogversary...yup that's right, I decided that rather than give away one huge stash, I would make several smaller giveaways and share the love a bit more.

I'll see you later, until then Happy Crafting! :) xx

Pastel Wings

Good morning and happy Friday!  Well I am very glad this week is over, I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend and a far less dramatic week next week!

I've been busy house hunting too, so not had a great deal of time for crafting and my mojo has decided to go walkabout for a bit, I'm sure it will be back soon though lol.

Anyway today's make is a card using Wings, from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  Products are listed at the end of my post.

I used this stamp for the blog hop, but I thought I'd colour her again in pastels this time.

Skin: Vintage Photo
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Clothing and Wings: Bundled Sage, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet.

I've used a Joycraft die behind her, and my embossing mat has also gone walkabout too, so I had to forgo the embossing this time.

Layers are distressed and edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Love, love, love that Prima bling!

That's all from me today but I'll be back again at the weekend with more inspiration and some candy.  Happy crafting! :) xx

Vintage Wedding Mini Album @ Dies to Die for

Morning everyone, I'm coming at you on a Sunday with my Dies to Die for post, as the heat just wiped me out earlier in the week and so I wasn't quite ready to post this on Friday. Luckily for me I have wonderful teamies, and the super fabulous Faye (have you been following her work? It's amazing, I'm just a fan boy lol), stepped in for me and swapped days, isn't that sweet of her?

Anyhoo, on to my make and as you know I've recently been dabbling in some mini albums.......but now I've moved up into the next leave and so today I'm posting my first 'proper' mini album. (Well if I'm honest it it's actually the 3rd, but it's the 1st one I've shared)

I don't know about you but for me at this time of year it's all about Weddings. I've been asked to make several wedding cards and recently a work friend asked me to make a wedding album for her daughter to take as a gift for a wedding she was attending in Ireland. The bride likes vintage.

Immediately I thought of the Vintage Wedding collection by Pion Design, it fits the Vintage and Wedding theme and it has all these great cut aparts and tags etc. I used a mixture of 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 papers.

This is what I made.

I edged all of my layers (but not the pages themselves) with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I hope I'm not blowing my own trumpet when I say that the pictures do not do it justice, it's so difficult to photograph these well,  and I have also made a video which you can find here,  but it really does look lovely in real life and I'm rather chuffed with it.

I followed a tutorial for the pages from My Sisters Scrapper and you can find it here, (I just changed the page slightly so that the pocket was on the side instead of on the top, and altered the dimensions a bit),  if you wish to have a go at making one of these for yourself. If you want to make side pockets like me, just leave one of the top tabs in place so that you can close the top as well as the bottom, and then trim a sliver off of the side so that it makes a pocket.

Pion Design Vintage Wedding Collection
Other Items
Lock with Heart Charm
Prima Flowers
Prima Say it in Crystals Border Zephyr

Most of the flowers, the lace, rose organza trim and the heart and butterfly charms are from the Ribbon Girl

I had an immense amount of fun making this and my work friend loves it, so I hope the bride and groom do too!

That's all from me today but I'll be back again next week in my regular Friday spot.

Happy crafting! :) xx

Running Late

Good afternoon! Just managing to blog a few words in my lunch break at work to say that my normal Friday post for Dies to Die for will be running a little late again this week. I'm working on something fab to share with you all, but the weather this week has really knocked me for 6 and on Wednesday when I got home from work ..... after what felt like the longest hottest bus journey ever.....I fell asleep and lost several hours! So that put me behind schedule a bit. But luckily for me the super talented, kind and gorgeous Faye has stepped in for me today and let me take her Sunday spot. Thank you Faye!! :)

So I will be posting my project along with lots of pics and a video for you.

Also I haven't forgotten that it was my Blogversary on Tuesday, 2 years eeek! where did that time go? I still feel like a noob lol. Also I have almost 1000 followers on my Facebook page so I will try and sort some major Candy out this weekend for you.

Hope you're all keeping cool and hydrated if you're feeling the effects of the UK weather.

Have a great Friday! :) xx
