Tempest 1 was an AT-AT sent to Endor as part of Tempest Force. It used an adapted TIE targeting system to combat maneuverable T-47 airspeeders. Tempest 1 had been previously used in subjugation of Kashyyyk.

In 4 ABY, it was commanded by Igar, who used it to bring the captured Luke Skywalker to Darth Vader, and the Commander then used it to continue his search for Rebels in the forests.
