Too much credence is given to this game. I mean it was supposed to be an fps and not that much though was given to the storyline. I think too many articles are based off this one game like the "liberation of Naboo" for instance.

  • Games are just as much a part of canon as anything else. jSarek 05:52, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Star wars Battlefront was one of the best star wars games of 2004. And it does desserves alot of credit.

In response to JSarek, not *every* game is "as much a part of canon as anything else." That would be a bit naive, especially when you consider those games that invent scenarios --fun though they may be -- without consideration for existing continuity. And let's face it, the Rogue Squadron trilogy, Empire at War and Battlefront titles all present scenarios that are primarily designed to be played, which is fine. Whatever expanded universe sources they might utilize are little more than gameplay elements. For instance, Wedge and the droids' mission to Wayland in Empire at War. That's an impossible scenario when it's made clear that no one had even heard of the planet by the time of Heir to the Empire. Nothing wrong with gamer designers proving interesting new scenarios from the books, but let's not confuse them with genuine extensions of the Expanded Universe (ala games like KOTOR and the upcoming Force Unleashed) else you risk Star Wars becoming a confusing morass of contradictory story elements that don't make sense and don't harmonize.

AT-XT?[]

I keep hearing that AT-XT was Cut from game is this true? ~~# 24.215.174.33

I highly doubt the ARC-170, AT-RT or N-1 Starfighter were in the game either. I know a lot about the PC modding of both battlefronts and I have never heard about any of those existing as cut content in battlefront 1. Also, there was a walker nicknamed "Pandemic's AT-PT" but it isnt the AT-PT we all know.

  • Seems suspicious. Can anyone verify the contents of that section of the article?--Lord OblivionSith holocronSith Emblem 04:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Droidekas/Grassy Plains?[]

Under the section pertaining to discontinuity between the game and canon, the article states that Droidekas were not present in the Battle of the Grassy Plains. However...weren't they? I recall Jar Jar Binks tangling his foot within the wires of a B-1 Battle Droid and as he struggled to get free, shooting a droideka causing it to fall over. Perhaps I am recalling the event incorrectly. Any input would be fantastic. Mordecai 19:21, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Alright, I have looked at the article for the Battle of the Grassy Plains, and under listed under the forces of the Trade Federation it states that Droidekas were used in the battle. I am therefore removing the supposed "inconsistency." Mordecai 17:46, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
  • You both are clueless, yes they were in the battle of the grassy plains but the reason why they werent put there was because the game is supposed to have you get more expirienced as you play. The battle in the game was already as easy as it was, and if they put droideka's in that level, it just wouldv gone by like that. It wouldv been to easy. They want you to earn more as you complete your objectives. Notice the pattern. Almost every level in clone wars time line in that game, you either earn a new droid or clone unit. And if i may add, The level only stops at about the time the gungans surrender. They dont do the whole battle for you. The droideka's dont come to that battle atleast until about the time they were about to surrender.
  • Sorry...but What!? I understand how the experience progression of Battlefront works, but how does it change the fact that this article incorrectly stated that Droidekas were not present at the Battle of the Grassy Plains? And, how are "both of us" clueless again? Mordecai 21:44, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
  • are you guys even trying to comprehend of what i'm sating. Like the first person said, they werent there and present during the battle during the game. He was right it should have been removed. Its the major upbasis of the game is what the battle is heading for.
    • Right, calm down. It's just a misunderstanding. Droidekas aren't present in the battle as depicted in the game, but are in the film version. However, this isn't really an inconsistency, as neither army is fully accounted for in the game, so droidekas could easily be fighting elsewhere. The battle in the game appears to be an isolated microcosm of the overall battle - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 17:25, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
      • You all understand that, i should hope. Its like gaming experience. And really, what you just said has nothing to do with the actual battle, its just that someone posted that droideka's were present during the grassy plains battle which would probably be changed by now. Just all of you understand that droideka's were presnet in the movie but not in the battle in the game. Either way it has nothing to do with someone changing the files and outcome.
        • Yeah, we know droidekas were in the battle. That wasn't the dispute. But it's been removed from the article anyway, so there's no problem - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 18:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
  • you would think that, unless they re arange it, then its ok.

Another Inconsistency[]

During battles on Tatooine in the Galactic Conquest Mode between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, an Imperial Class Star Destroyer is seen flying in the sky as part of the background. Now I know that Imperial Class Star Destroyers cannot enter a planet's atmosphere and I know thats not a Victory Class Star Destroyer because it doesn't have those triangular prism shaped things on either side of the hull. I think that should be added as an inconsistency.

  • It couldnt enter and land on the planet, but it was able to orbit it and fly through it. You realize the special imperial task force had come from the fleet not the ship, and the rest of the army come from the Star destroyer. With the mssion as dangerous as it was, they had extermintaed only the weakest of Tatooines officails and locals. It was more of a threat. Look on the special pages on Star Wars website or even go to www.youtube.com and look for a clone apart which is a very special star wars comedy and one of its episodes includes the mission of tattione. Even there will you see the ship on the planet. Very good question by the way.

Varint[]

I don't think this is a word. A search showed nothing but computer data-gibberish, and suggested it may be a misspelling of variant. Variant doesn't make a ton of sense though, so unless someone has an answer, I'm removing it. Chack Jadson 19:48, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

  • It isn't a word. I believe it's supposed to be in the form of "Trooper Variants" instead, following after the Battlefront II article. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 19:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Ok, thanks. I'll fix it. Chack Jadson 20:00, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Units that match the movies...[]

What for use does it have to know wich units match the places in the movies? nothing? I indeed think so.

  • I agree. I hadn't seen that section before. Thanks for deleting it. JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 15:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Ki-Adi-Mundi and the Cereans[]

Wich Movie clip(s) does Ki-Adi-Mundi appear in???OOM-10 19:34, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

  • None. I've played the entire Clone Wars campaign and I've never seen him in a movie clip. He might have been in the Geonosis clip, but I doubt it. LukeSkywalker 14:53, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks User: Luke Skywalker, for clearing that up. I might delete that part about Mundi and the Cereans appearing in the movie clips-if they didn't and with permission of course.OOM-10 16:41, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Chee coments about BF canon[]

I'm sure some of you have seen it already, but still (from here:

Battlefront I: Story is S, but locations, characters, and technology are C.
Battlefront II: Story is C.

How shouls this be reflected in the article? May be a note in BTS section? And by the way, what about Battle of Kashyyyk (Separatist Crisis), Battle of Rhen Var (Galactic Civil War) and Assault on Yavin 4? Since they only appear in BF 1, which story is not necessary canon (unless mentioned somewhere else), shouldn't they all be granted with ambig-canon tag? Mauser 09:35, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Special: Commander/Leader Unit[]

None of these units are really commanders. Jet troopers could be sergents but that would make clone sharpshooters captain. Admiral James Kaizer 20:28, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

mobile[]

I was surprised that this wasn't on the front page, and was stunned to discover it wasn't anywhere. I got the link from Star Wars.com http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Mobile/Star+Wars+Battlefront:+Mobile+Squadrons/news.asp?c=10840 Dr.Kermit(The Doctor is in) 00:30, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Dark trooper inconsistency[]

the dark trooper inconsistency has been resolved check out the Phase Zero dark trooper I'll delete this inconsistency and add something about it in behind the scenes Flamingfool719 02:35, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

System requirements?[]

Do they really need to be on the page? If you go to any other game's page, it doesn't show the system requirements nor does it need to. Should I get rid of it? It's pretty un-encyclopedic anyway, as lines like this show: 'really good video card' and 'excellent graphics card'.--S•h•o•b•y•4 (TalkEditsContribs) 01:35, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

"Organizations & Titles" in Appearances not showing up correctly[]

For an unknown but certainly odd reason, the "Organizations and Titles" sub-section in the "Appearances" section is not showing up correctly, and I confess to being a complete failure at unraveling this mystery. If you go to the edit page, you can clearly see that there are a plentiful amount of items added under "Organizations & Titles," so I don't know the problem. Sol Pacificus (talk) 07:52, October 30, 2013 (UTC)

  • Nevermind! Not a minute later after posting that message, I have fixed the problem ^^. Apparently, it stems from the capitalization of "Organizations" when the "o" should be lower-case. Sol Pacificus (talk) 07:53, October 30, 2013 (UTC)

Inconsistency Source Needed[]

In the article's section titled "Inconsistencies with Star Wars continuity", there is one example of inconsistency provided: "Previous sources indicated that ARC troopers did not participate in the Battle of Geonosis.[17]" This example references the general Republic comic series but does not indicate which specific issue. It would be nice to have the exact source. Red Heathen (talk) 22:39, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
