The Rehn system was located in the Brak sector of the Expansion Region. It was the home of the planet Rehn VII, which was capable of foodstuff production as well as a degree of manufacturing capabilities.[1]
During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire designated the system as a staging area for the Imperial Navy. As part of the new security requirements, valid permits were required to travel to the Rehn system. Strict enforcement meant harsh penalties were levied on authorized arrivals. Picket ships and sensor stations were used to patrol the outer edges of the system.[1]
Despite the best efforts of the Imperial Navy, the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Brak Sector Force managed to establish a listening post on Rehn VII.[1]
