- "This is the Kolatill Council…all New Republic forces, please send assistance immediately. After imprisoning the Imperial governor we have been attacked by TIE bombers. Domaz, our capital, is in flames. Please send emergency medical assistance."
- ―Distress call from Kolatill
The Kolatill Council, also known as the Council of Kolatill, was the ruling body of the planet Kolatill in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 0 ABY, the Council was arrested by Imperial Governor Tetrum following his declaration of martial law on the world. Eight years later, the populace overthrew Tetrum in response to the New Republic's liberation of the sector capital Kal'Shebbol, which deposed the local Imperial warlord, Moff Kentor Sarne. The Council was freed from prison; and they took up their old position, although their time incarcerated had reduced their number to only three members, including Councilor Kause.
After declaring allegiance to the New Republic, the Council and the population of Kolatill were forced to endure two assaults against their planet by forces loyal to Moff Sarne. The New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar responded to the Council's distress signal following the devastation of the capital city, Domaz, providing relief aid and assisting in fending off the second assault on the planet. The Council, grateful for the New Republic's efforts, publicly thanked the crew of the FarStar, and provided them with information that allowed them to carry out their mission to track down Moff Sarne.
History[]
The Kolatill Council, also referred to as the Council of Kolatill, was the governing body of the planet Kolatill in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. They controlled the world until 0 ABY, when the local Imperial Moff, Kentor Sarne, appointed Governor Tetrum to rule over Kolatill. On Sarne's orders, Tetrum instituted martial law; all of the local repulsorlift manufacturers were required to provide combat speeders for the Moff's forces. The Council was arrested and imprisoned.[1]
In 8 ABY, the population of Kolatill rose up against Tetrum and imprisoned him. Moff Sarne's regime had fallen, as the New Republic had taken his capital of Kal'Shebbol and forced him to retreat. The Council was freed from incarceration, but the years in prison had reduced their number to only three. The populace requested that the remaining Council members retake their position, and they agreed, reforming the Council with Councilor Kause at its head. They promptly declared that Kolatill was pledging its allegiance to the New Republic.[1]
Shortly after, the planet was assaulted by the Ton-Falk-class escort carrier Kathol Protector, which devastated the capital city of Domaz. The Council immediately issued a distress signal, requesting aid from New Republic forces. The signal was received by the CR90 corvette FarStar, which was about to set out on a mission to track down Moff Sarne. The vessel, under the command of Captain Keleman Ciro, sped to the planet and rendered aid to the population of Domaz. During the relief efforts, Councilor Kause personally escorted members of the FarStar delegation around the city, and requested a meeting with Captain Ciro in the capital. The Council planned to broadcast the meetings across the planet for morale-boosting purposes and to show that the situation was under control.[1]
As Ciro was making his way to the surface for a meeting with the Council in a diplomatic shuttle, the Kathol Protector returned to initiate a second attack on the planet. During the fighting, Captain Ciro's shuttle was captured and taken aboard the Kathol Protector, although the FarStar, aided by the nascent Kolatill Defense Force, managed to fend off the attack. In the aftermath of the battle, the Council held a memorial service to honor those lost in the recent upheavals and to publicly thank the FarStar crew for its efforts. They provided the crew with the coordinates for the planet Gandle Ott, allowing the FarStar to continue its mission.[1]
Organization[]
The Kolatill Council was comprised of several individuals who were responsible for the governing of Kolatill. In 8 ABY, after the bombing of Domaz, only three members of the Council remained, led by Councilor Kause.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Kolatill Council was introduced in the RPG adventure Omens, which was published in The DarkStryder Campaign by West End Games in 1995.[1]
