- "The divisions between the Faithful and the Faithless split every clan: members of the Ordos, Fetts, Kryzes, Awauds, Priests, Gedycs, and, yes, Vizslas, belonged to both sides in our struggle."
- ―Tor Vizsla
Clan Gedyc was a Mandalorian clan. Following the rise of the peaceful New Mandalorian faction in the aftermath of the Mandalorian Excision, members of Clan Gedyc were divided in their support of the pacifist sect and the traditional warrior clans.[2]
By 19 BBY, Lorka Gedyc had ascended to the head of Death Watch, a radical Mandalorian splinter faction[1] that dreamed of the return of the Mandalorians' ancient conqueror ways.[2] Under Lorka Gedyc's leadership, Death Watch allied with the newly-risen Galactic Empire, aiding the Imperials' efforts to establish a garrisoned presence on the Mandalorian homeworld of Mandalore.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Clan Gedyc was first alluded to with the appearance of Lorka Gedyc in the novel Imperial Commando: 501st, written by author Karen Traviss and published October 27, 2009. However, it was only with the 2013 release of the bounty hunter reference book, The Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett, that Clan Gedyc truly entered Star Wars canon.
