"♪ I don't know, but I've been told. The Rebels need to be controlled. ♪"
―Candace[1]

Candace, formerly designated TK-90210 during her time in the Galactic Empire, was a human female from the desert planet Tatooine. Candace joined the Empire as a stormtrooper soon after the birth of her brother Phineas Flynn.

In 0 BBY, she was sent to buy a new pair of socks along with Baljeet and Buford by her commanding officer for Darth Vader. However, she got distracted and decided to follow R2-D2 and C-3PO to the planet Tatooine. Later on, she met up with her commanding officer again to be reminded about her mission. She went to Mos Eisley and bought a new pair of socks in the clothing store Tall Darth & Handsome. As she walked out of the building, Candace saw two boys opening up the Death Star plans. Candace then tried chasing the two culprits, though they managed to escape aboard the starship Centennial Chihuahua. Seeing her failed to capture her target, Candace, Baljeet, and Buford went to meet the commanding officer to hand the socks. The socks were stored in a bag that Buford accidentally switched for his bantha cheese hoagie, but they did not realize their mistake until they had left Tatooine to go back to DS-1 Death Star Mobile Battle Station.

She later left the Empire and joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic after reuniting with her brothers.

Biography[]

Early life[]

"I guess if I have a regret, it's that I never got reunited with my sister. She left Tatooine when I was just a baby."
―Phineas, about her long-lost sister Candace[1]

Years prior to 0 BBY,[2] the human female Candace resided on the desert planet Tatooine alongside her mother Linda Flynn-Fletcher and father. She later left the family not long after the birth of her younger brother Phineas Flynn to enlist as a stormtrooper for the Galactic Empire.[1]

Unrecognized potential[]

"Socks? This is a total waste of my potential."
―Candace, on her assignment to buy socks[1]

In 0 BBY,[2] Candace and her other peers, Baljeet and Buford were onboard the Tantive IV to chase after the Rebels but was stopped by her commanding officer. They were given a new order to buy a new pair of socks for Darth Vader and she reluctantly agreed. As she was walking through the corridor of the ship, she noticed someone with an astromech droid and ran away to report her findings. However, her commanding officer ignored her and sent Candace away to finish her task. She then returned to Baljeet and Buford who was keeping an eye on the mysterious person, but she was gone and saw two droids R2-D2 along with C-3PO entering an escape pod to flee. Candace along with Buford and Baljeet followed the droids by entering another escape pod.[1]

The three stormtroopers landed on Tatooine to Candace's disappointment. They then got out and started to walk through the open desert. To avoid boredom, the three made small topics of discussion. Candace was asked about how she ended up in the Empire, Candace then sang a pro-Imperial propaganda song to remind them about her reasonings for joining the Empire, including the provided work benefits and other opportunities. They later found Candace's commanding officer trying to search for the same droids and the missing Death Star plans, which intrigued Candace. However, her commanding officer reminded the three stormtroopers about their main objective and sent them away.[1]

Missing plans[]

"There they are!"
―Candace, seeing her target trying to escape[1]

They then went to Mos Eisley and purchased a new pair of socks in Tall Darth & Handsome, which offered a variety of promotions and discounts on socks. As Candace walked out of the store with the socks packed in a small bag, she met up with Buford and Baljeet who bought a bantha cheese hoagie. Right across the store, the three stormtroopers saw two humans Flynn and Fletcher who were in possession of the Death Star plans. Candace shouted at them, which caused the brothers to be alerted, and quickly started to run. Candace pulled both of her peers to chase after the brothers, though Buford accidentally fired his blaster which caused nearby ronto to rampage toward them, separating the young stormtroopers from their targets.[1]

Soon after, Candace spotted their target at a spaceport with a new company Isabella to help them escape. Candace fire her blaster but she missed, which alerted the brothers and the pilot to enter a starship, the Centennial Chihuahua.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Candace was a human female with orange long hair, light skin, and dark blue eyes. She was a strong-willed and brave individual who often annoyed her commanding officer, due to her constant irritation in doing the right things. Though, at times, her determination ends up being misguided and causes reckless behavior. However, what lies beneath her stormtrooper profession (for the Galactic Empire, at least) is a sense of sympathy, which gets its biggest shining moment after Phineas willingly saved her once he saw her in distraught when she's about to fall from a ledge at first. Because of Phineas' selfless act despite being a Rebel himself, Candace, alongside her fellow stormtroopers Buford and Baljeet, decided to change for the better.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Candace first appeared in Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars, a non-canon crossover special[1] which premiered on July 26, 2014.[3] The character design and traits were based on her counterpart of the same name in the Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb. Similar to the main series, Candace was voiced by Ashley Tisdale.[1]

The 5-digit numbers in Candace's number designation was based on Dan Povenmire's zip code for fan mails, 90210.[4]

Additionally, Phineas said that Candace left the family when he was just a baby; which places the event of Candace leaving at least a couple of years prior to the crossover special.
