Adrialla was the queen of Eiram[1] around 382 BBY[3] during the High Republic Era. She was the adoptive mother of Phan-tu Zenn and the wife of Odelia.[1]
Biography[]
Queen of Eiram[]
Adrialla was born to the Queen of Eiram and was the heir presumptive. When she was young, her mother planned to marry her to a Pantoran baron, but Adrialla went against these wishes and married a woman named Odelia instead. They did not have natural children of their own, so instead they adopted an orphaned boy named Phan-tu Zenn, whose family had been killed in floods that had demolished the Rayes Canal area of Erasmus Capital City. At some point, Adrialla became Queen of Eiram. From around 387 BBY, her reign became blighted by a renewed war with Eiram's twin planet, E'ronoh, which was sparked by the accidental drowning of E'ronoh's Prince Niko A'lbaran on Eiram itself. During the war, Adrialla made a bargain with the Mother, leader of an extremist Force cult known as the Path of the Open Hand, for food, medical aid and fuel shipments. In return, she was supposed to supply the Mother with a poison made from the Eiram's blue scorpions at a secret research facility on Arium Island.[1]
Peace talks with E'ronoh[]
The initial summit[]
By 382 BBY,[3] the war had taken its toll on both Eiram and E'ronoh. Adrialla requested aid from the Galactic Republic, which agreed to send a ship full of medical supplies guarded by the Jedi Masters Creighton Sun and Char-Ryl-Roy, Jedi Knight Gella Nattai, and Roy's padawan Enya Keen.[1] At the same time, E'ronoh was expecting a hauler to bring much-needed ice to the desert planet, so Princess Xiri A'lbaran proposed a brief ceasefire, which Adrialla and the Eirami accepted. Unfortunately, the arrival of the Republic aid to Eiram was complicated by the simultaneous arrival of Chancellor Orlen Mollo, who had heard of the ceasefire and wished to take advantage of it to broker a lasting peace. The Jedi and Mollo's Longbeam cruisers crashed into each other, while one of E'ronoh's starfighters, sabotaged by the Path of the Open Hand in order to keep the war going, went haywire and started a skirmish with the Eirami fighters. Though Gella Nattai was able to prevent matters from spiralling further, the skirmish caused Princess Xiri to crash-land on Eiram, where she was rescued by Adrialla's son, Prince Phan-tu.[1]
Xiri was brought before Adrialla, who played for her a holorecording sent by her father, Monarch A'lbaran, who demanded the return of Xiri with the threat of an E'roni attack on Eiram. Adrialla then played a message from Chancellor Mollo, who sought to bring both sides together aboard his flagship, the Paxion, for peace talks. Adrialla suggested that Xiri represent her homeworld in her father's stead. Xiri agreed to send a message to her father to prove that she was still alive and Adrialla decided that they would all travel up to the Paxion that night. As luck would have it, Monarch A'lbaran also agreed to attend the summit, which was presided over by Mollo and the Jedi. The first day was largely unproductive, with the E'roni delegation accusing Adrialla of having Prince Niko killed, sabotaging the E'roni starfighter, and stealing their colony; Adrialla refuted these accusations, causing A'lbaran to storm out. Over the next few days, talks continued to fail to bring either side any closer to peace.[1]
One night, Adrialla was confronted by Serrena, a member of the Path of the Open Hand, who had snuck aboard the Paxion. Serrena accused Adrialla of breaking her pact with the Mother to provide Eirami poison. Adrialla claimed that the E'roni had destroyed the research facility on Arium Island in one of their bombing attacks, but Serrena was not convinced and then threatened to target Phan-tu unless production resumed. At this point, Queen Consort Odelia awoke and fired on Serrena with her blaster. Serrena was wounded but managed to escape through an air vent.[1]
Not long afterwards, Mollo and the Jedi played holorecordings of the sufferings endured by the E'roni and Eirami people on screens throughout the ship. This caused Princess Xiri to propose a marriage between her and Prince Phan-tu, as a means of solidifying a lasting peace between the worlds. Adrialla was initially sceptical, hoping that Phan-tu might marry for love as she had, but her adoptive son was ultimately able to convince her to agree. That night, however, the E'roni military officer Jerrod Segaru was found dead in Phan-tu's bed, a clear sign that a third party was attempting to sabotage the peace proceedings. Shortly afterwards, the summit was joined by Axel Greylark, son of Chancellor Kyong Greylark, who had been sent to represent his mother's interests.[1]
Visit to E'ronoh[]
Segaru's funeral was held at E'ronoh's capital, the Rook. Adrialla and the Eirami contingent attended, but after the ceremony they were pelted with stones by an extremist pro-war party known as the Children of E'ronoh. Outraged, Adrialla furiously informed Monarch A'lbaran and the Jedi that their protection needed to be taken more seriously. It was therefore decided that both the heirs would go on a tour of E'ronoh, to rally support from the planet's populace and to draw out potential attackers. As it happened, Xiri and Phan-tu were indeed attacked by the Children of E'ronoh, led by Rev Ferrol, the son of Monarch A'lbaran's close adviser, Viceroy Ferrol, who was imprisoned. Although the saboteurs had seemingly been identified, the Jedi remained wary that there may have been other forces at play. The first of two ceremonies was then held to celebrate Xiri and Phan-tu's wedding, at which another assassin was apprehended - although this time she was mysteriously poisoned before she could be interrogated. To onlookers, the poison looked extremely similar to the poison of an Eirami blue scorpion.[1]
Wedding on Eiram[]
When the delegations moved to Eiram for the Eirami wedding ceremony, Prince Phan-tu took Axel Greylark to investigate Arium Island and its research facility. They found that the facility was still producing poison and Phan-tu confronted Adrialla about the fact that she had kept it a secret. Adrialla claimed that she had only thought of the poison as a means of ending the war, but admitted that she had been advised into pursuing its development by the Mother, a bargain that she regretted. The entire conversation was overheard by Princess Xiri, but she believed that the facility needed to remain functional as a fail-safe for their future protection - they did not know what threats might lie ahead. Shortly afterwards, Phan-tu and Xiri married. The wedding day was marred by the efforts of Axel Greylark, who had been working with the Mother all along, to disrupt it by destroying the capital's protective dome and baiting a large number of bounty hunters into attacking the venue. Greylark was apprehended by Gella Nattai, while the other Jedi managed to fend off the attacking bounty hunters. An attack by Rev Ferrol and the Children of E'ronoh was defeated by Princess Xiri, albeit at the cost of the Paxion. With the marriage complete, it was agreed that the peace accords would be officially signed at a summit on the holy moon of Jedha.[1]
