The Shameful war was a war between the Aturen's Great Houses over borders and land.
History[]
Due to advances in Aturen technology the war was the most brutal conflict Atura had previously experienced. Aturen aircrafts and plasma weapons were used in widespread warfare. The Nox retreated to their Floating city and watched.[1]
The war came to a head when a fusion warhead detonated over Shinolon forest. Tens of thousands of Aturens fighting in trenches, witnessed the sky ignite overhead as the warhead destroyed ten square miles of terrain in an instant. The ensuing forest fire filled the skies with ash and devastated hundreds of miles in every direction of the blast. Realizing they had gone too far, the Aturen armies ordered an immediate ceasefire to battle the ecological calamity.[1]
The Nox appeared in their floating city above the blast city and brought the leaders of the Great Houses before them. The Aturen set aside their differences and worked to end the war peacefully.[1] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
Aftermath[]
The Nox used their technology to cure the land from the fallout of the weapon. Life eventually returned to the continent except for a section known as the Great Shame, which stands as a monument dedicated to the shameful end of the conflict. Aturen are expected to make a pilgrimage to the site before becoming an adult so they can see the true cost of war.[1] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
