Amurru was a Goa'uld who had a long feud with Anhur around the time of Ra's death at the hands of the Tau'ri.

Whilst the uprising was taking place on Abydos, Amurru and Anhur were locked in battle on the planet Tuat. Anhur was close to winning the war and defeating Amurru when the news of Ra's death was heard, causing Anhur to leave the planet, allowing Amurru to survive.
