The original SpongeBob costumed character, which was used from around 2004 to 2012. This version, along with being more square than later revisions, had prosthetic arms controlled by the wearer. This costume was also used at Blackpool Pleasure Beach up until around 2016-2019.
An earlier version of the same costume, used from 2001 to around 2003. This version had a slightly wider mouth, bigger eyes, and a soft, sponge-like texture. It was also used in the episode "
SpongeGuard on Duty"
Another version of the same costume, with a smaller mouth, straighter nose, and a slightly darker color. This version was only used at the world premiere of Hey Arnold!: The Movie in 2002
