Orginally, there was going to be a level where Rick enters an old Nazi base populated by zombified Nazi soldiers inside. Apparently, Adolf Hitler was member of the Thule Cult, which worships one of the members of The Corrupted. As a result, some of the Nazis were zombified.
Based on concept art, some of these Nazi Zombies would have been wielding machine guns to use against Rick.
