Hot Fuzz (2007)

Hot Fuzz is a 2007 action comedy film directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg. Pegg and Nick Frost play police officers investigating a series of mysterious deaths in a West Country village. It is the second film in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy by Wright, Pegg, Frost and producer Nira Park.

Over 100 action films were used as inspiration for developing the script. Principal photography took place in Wells, Somerset – Wright's hometown. Filmed over eleven weeks in early 2006, it featured an extensive cast along with various uncredited cameos. Visual effects were developed by ten artists to expand on or add explosions, gore, and gunfire scenes. The film debuted on 14 February 2007 in the United Kingdom and 20 April in the United States, grossing US$80 million worldwide. Two different soundtracks were released in the UK and US. The film was praised by critics for its performances, direction, and humor, and was considered by many critics to be among the best films of 2007 as well as one of the greatest action comedy films of all time.
