Highschool of the Dead Zombieland Box Art 2

Highschool of the Dead: Zombieland is a beat 'em up game based on the anime series Highschool of the Dead developed and published by Konami for the Bandai Extreme, Revolution, Bandai CD, Bandai CD Revolution, Chaos, and PocketTurbo Plus.

Gameplay

All versions have where you beat up zombies and monsters who are trying to kill you, the goal is to beat them all on screen in order to advance into the next stage. Each character has a special ability move that will kill the enemies on screen, you can gain while battling the enemies. Only one boss is featured in the last stage, which is a giant zombie.

In the Bandai Extreme, and Bandai CD versions, the games are only one player where each playable character has their own ending when you beat the game. You only have 3 continues, and the giant zombie boss can only be access when playing hard mode.

In the Bandai Revolution, Bandai CD Revolution, and PocketTurbo Plus versions, you can play up to 2/4 players where both players can do special combo abilities which makes it easy to clear out the enemies.

In the Bandai Chaos version, it has similar gameplay from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project" with the infinite use of special abilities draining your health when you use them, and each character having the same moves.

Sound Effects Used

The anime and stock SFX are mainly heard in the Bandai CD, and Bandai CD Revolution versions. While the Bandai Extreme, Revolution, and PocketTurbo Plus versions use a few due to memory space. The Bandai Chaos version only uses original 8-bit SFX.
