Azumanga Daioh :Retold is a reboot and retelling of "Azumanga Daioh The Animation" created at Sunrise/Bandai Namco Filmworks. The anime has major changes from the original, along with a new cast playing as the characters in both the Japanese and English versions. Unlike the original, the full episodes are shown, and are not divided into 5 shorts shown in between Japanese TV broadcast, and new scenes and episodes are featured. The series is now 3 seasons long, each set in the first 3 years in high school. Five OVAs were later produced for home media.
