Dr Eggman's new assistant - a funny addition[]

SA-55 is funny because he is honest, he records Dr Eggman's, speak of them often and criticises them whenever he can, he is loyal to Dr Eggman and just doing his job, but judging from his first cutscene in Mazuri, he does get some amusement from his humiliation. He should return to make Dr Eggman look a fool. --Vae Infectus 22:03, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

I agree. Pretty much like Scratch and Grounder, Snivley, Decoe and Bocoe. Though I doubt he will return since usually Eggman from the games has always been a loner.--Mystic Monkey 23:46, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
Wow, Oh well. I still doubt it will happen a third time.--Mystic Monkey is at Diamond Dust Zone this Christmas. 23:05, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

He seems pretty good at what he does too, unlike any other assistants we've seen in the past. Phoenix Saturn 21:22, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

But all in all, kinda saw Nack the Weasel more suited for SA-55 role than having to build a new character. A badguy who be of some help to Robotnik yet still not afraid to speak his mind or the fact he is working with a megalomaniac.--Mystic Monkey sez 12:11, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

That’s because Sega of Japan and Sonic Team are hard of hearing Mystic. I’m fine with Orbot and Cubot being video game Dr. Eggman’s personal minions like Decoe and Bocoe but I hope Bokkun appears in the games. I enjoyed Bokkun in Sonic X, the Sonic X comic and Sonic Eggs. The Viceroy 10:08, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

I doubt Bokkun will appear, what with Sonic X not being canon and all. Myself 123 16:59, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

I wasn’t aware that you were an employee at Sega who could confirm that Sonic X was not “canon”. Sonic X has more weight compared to SatAM and AoStH since Sega of Japan and Sonic Team were involved in its creation. It’s canon and it takes place in the Sonic X Zone (Archie Comics definition). The Viceroy 10:26, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

It's only canon to itself, it's not relative to the games. I may have no official confirmation that it's not, just common sense, considering it contains characters that don't appear in the games, also I find it quite hypocritical that I can't confirm Sonic X isn't canon when you can confirm it is canon. Myself 123 12:06, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

In other words you, me and many, many others are at an indefinite stalemate unless Sega of Japan and Sonic Team releases the official Sonic book of canon, but of course that will never happen since Sega would draw heavy criticism. The Viceroy 14:01, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Indeed, though I think it's safe to assume it's not canon, like I said there are characters in it that have never appeared in the games, I mean the Sonic Movie clearly isn't canon, but that was produced by Sonic Team. Myself 123 11:05, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

True, Sonic X may not be canon to the video games but bear in mind that the Sonic video game world is always in flux. Namely every time a new Sonic video game is released. Just look at Dr. Eggman’s appearance from Sonic 06. Will Bokkun appear in a later title? Probably not, but it’s still in the air. The Viceroy 04:32, January 16, 2011 (UTC)

It's very unlikely, although some elements or thing from cartoon may appear in the games, I highly doubt characters will. Myself 123 01:20, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

Brilliant, thanks! -- Supermorff 20:01, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

I wouldn't call it "brilliant", but thanks.

Yay, Ergo makes his return :D Temporal the Cat Zack the cat genesis 22:28, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Clearly Dr Eggman debugged Orbot, he's not as insulting towards him and...he's now an evil C-3P0!!! Vae Infectus 03:14, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

Orbot doesn't act evil too me, I just think he goes whatever Eggman orders him and Cubot. Candy the Rabbit- I Love Candy! 02:00, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

That A Gay Thing From Sonic Colors

SA-55 and Orbot[]

Is there any actual evidence that Orbot from Sonic Colours and SA-55 from Sonic Unleashed are the same? SA-55 had the habbit of "ergo"-ing everything and was voiced by Chris Collet. He was also egg shaped. Orbot was more spherical for his name sake, voiced by Kirk Thornton and was more for labour than information report. Could be Orbot was recycled from SA-55 after Dr. Eggman caught up with him at the end of Unleashed but other than that I have my doubt these two robots are 100% same.--Mystic Monkey is a proud MonoBook Wikian. 14:22, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Sonic Channel says that "a robot very similar to Orbot appeared in Sonic World Adventure" (Sonic World Adventure = Sonic Unleashed): http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicChannel/comic/25th/20161021_001192/
It also questions whether this robot was a prototype of Orbot. But at no point does it say that the two robots are the same. Since nothing officially says that the two robots are the same, we should also consider the one from Unleashed to be "a robot very similar to Orbot". --IndigoPengi (talk) 18:13, August 15, 2020 (UTC)
Oh, that's fine then. DECOOL! (talk) 20:38, August 15, 2020 (UTC)

Does anyone else think he kind of looks like a Pokeball? Like, a parody of them or such? Idk, the colors and design make me think of Pokeballs. MiasmicSiren (talk) 03:17, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

As a playable character[]

When did Orbot became a playable character? Gorilli09 (talk) 14:35, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

Subpage splitting[]

Hello. I'm proposing this and Cubot's pages to be split into the main article, "History and appearances", and "Miscellaneous". The reason for this is because I believe they have enough content for this split, and notice that characters like Wave the Swallow already have their own subpages despite having made less appearances than these two. DiegoUreta68 (talk) 16:58, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Sure, why not?Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 17:51, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
I support this change.Josiahblazesig 18:04, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
Well. Now that the pages have been split, maybe we could reach an agreement on which pages should be split and which shouldn't? Some pages are really long and could need this. Perhaps the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic X characters could be good candidates. DiegoUreta68 (talk) 19:26, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
Well, I certainly think some of the pages for the Pre-SGW Archie cast should be split, if only for their incredibly long "history" sections.Josiahblazesig 19:29, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
Those pages are so long that even the history subpages themselves would have to be split. DiegoUreta68 (talk) 19:38, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
