That Moth Bot is no match for my Swat-a-pult!

— Sonic the Hedgehog, "Don't Judge Me"

The Swat-a-pult,[2] also referred to as the Fly Swatter,[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom series. Essentially a giant insect swatter, it is a weapon used by Team Sonic.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Swat-a-pult is a wooden ballistic device, resembling a medieval catapult with a flyswatter for a sling, except it is much smaller and lighter.

Features and abilities[]

Designed to home in on insects,[1] the Swat-a-pult swiftly smacks anything insectoid in front of it with enough force to send an opponent at the size of Moth Bot tumbling.[2] Additionally, it instantly reloads when used, allowing for successive usage.[2] It is also build with an AI that allows it to operate independently.[1]

History[]

TV series[]

Season one[]

The Swat-a-pult was once used by Sonic the Hedgehog to combat Dr. Eggman's Moth Bot when it attacked the Village Center. Once his team had immobilized the robot, Sonic defeated it with the Swat-a-pult.[2] Knuckles noticed the Swat-a-pult when he vistited Tails' Workshop and asked Tails if he could claim he invented it, which Tails said no to. The Hypnobot, which Eggman stole from Tails, took over the Swat-a-pult along with an army of Tails' inventions. Eggman used it to fight Team Sonic for a while, but Tails regained control of Hypnobot and made the Swat-a-pult, along with his other inventions and Eggman's robots, dance. The Swat-a-pult was then returned to his workshop.[1]
