Shamar is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a bustling town centered in a desert area in Midesta which boasts many forms of textiles and teas, and a part of the United Federation.[1] It is also home to the Desert Raiders and Ehsan, the local Guardian of the Gaia Keys.
Description[]
History[]
Shamar has been protected by the Desert Raiders for some time, its citizens having acknowledged the group's efforts. During the Shattered World Crisis, Sonic the Hedgehog, Antoine D'Coolette, Big the Cat and Chip traveled to Shamar in search of Ehsan and his Gaia Keys, where they received help from the Desert Raiders. After searching the city though, the learned Eshan had been kidnapped by the Midesta Egg Army.[2]
Trivia[]
- Shamar is based on the Town Stage with the same name from the video game Sonic Unleashed,
- It is possible that Shamar existed in the pre-Super Genesis Wave timeline. In the Sonic Super Digest issues it is mentioned that Professor Pickle hails from the University of Spagonia and the University of Shamar. However, it is not yet clear if this is canon.
