The Phoenix^[1] (フェニックス^[2], Fenikkusu^?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a robot deployed by the Guardian Units of Nations, and the latest prototype of the Hornet Series.^[2]

Appearance[]

It is nearly identical in appearance to a Hornet-3, but is colored differently and noticeably faster. It is red and gray in color, with red on the top of each of its arms. It has one yellow "eye", and emblazoned just above it are the GUN logo and the number 05. The bombs it fires are cone-like in shape, primarily colored red, and have red lights around the front edges.

Overview[]

The Phoenix usually patrols an area, but will stop to arm its three bomb pods and throw them at passing enemies. Unlike its other siblings in the Hornet Series, however, this robot can reload its three bomb pods but only when the enemy is no longer in its range. Like its other siblings, if the enemy is within its range and its bomb pods have been exhausted, it will only keep gazing at them while patrolling the area as it can no longer harm them.

Upon destruction, it awards the player 100 points.
