Ninja Arts: Camouflage is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by the Archie Comics.
Description[]
Ninja Arts: Camouflage is an ability used by the Mobian Chameleons of the Shinobi Clan, wherein they utilize their innate chameleon ability to change his scale colors to make himself invisible. They are also able to partially become invisible, although this is not done often. It is their man method of gathering intel and information, which often allows them to hold leverage and blackmail others. Despite being invisible, skilled opponents, such as Lightning Lynx, can still detect the chameleons through other means, such as sensing or hearing the chameleon’s heartbeat or breathing.[1]
History[]
Ninja Arts: Camouflage is a technique that has long been deployed by the Shinobi Clan to further their goals. It was especially used by the Shinobi Clan members who were stationed on Angel Island, where they would use this ability to easily spy on the current Guardian at the time and to enter areas that would otherwise only be accessible to the Brotherhood. Espio has also used it to spy on others than just the Guardian, such as when he was eavesdropping on Dimitri and Nicole’s conversation.[2]
Espio has also used this ability to gather very secretive information that others wouldn’t know of, primarily for blackmailing purposes, such as the time Sonic disguised himself as “the Sneak”, or when Tails made a comic about Captain Super Fox-Man, or about the location of Sally’s birthmark. However, more often than not, Espio uses the Ninja Arts: Camouflage in combat, where he uses it to sneak up on opponents and strike them while they’re unaware, or to use them to easily slip away from enemy attacks.
The Bride of Constant Vigil keeps a plethora of bodyguards in her personal chamber who are constantly invisible and watch over her, unbeknownst to any guests who meet with her.[3]
