King Akotek is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He was an ancient ruler of a kingdom on Mobius, renowned as one of the wealthiest rulers in history.
Description[]
He resembled an anthropomorphic mantis and wore a fan-like headdress. His fabulous treasure, called the Akotek Treasure, was buried with him when he died.[1] Akotek's tomb was hidden on an island, the location of which was known only to Krakiota the Sea Serpent.[2] The tomb was sealed and whoever broke the seal would be cursed for all eternity.[1]
History[]
Long after Akotek's death, Zorabel the Pirate Queen decided to seek out the Akotek Treasure. Knowing of the curse, she brought Captain Plunder with her, allowing him to break the spell and incur the curse of 'misfortune and calamity' while she took the treasure.[3]
