The Fan of Fen Xing[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an enchanted fan that has the power to call upon great winds.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Fan of Fen Xing resembles a traditional blue fan, with a gold trim, gray connection beams, and a red stripe.[2]

Features and traits[]

The Fan of Fen Xing is capable of creating incredibly powerful winds, strong enough to blow even individuals like the Iron King great distances.[1]

History[]

Past[]

Knowing it was the only way of putting out the magical fire his wife, the Iron Queen, had covered Mount Stormtop with, the Iron King locked the Fan of Fen Xing away in the Iron Fortress' armory.[1]

Arsenal of the Iron King[]

Arriving at Stormtop Village, and learning of the Fan of Fen Xing from Li Yuen, Sonic and Tails Infiltrated the Iron Fortress, with help from Monkey Khan. While Sonic fought the Iron King, Tails located the Fan of Fen Xing, and handed it to the hedgehog, who used its magical abilities to blow the Iron King away with a large gust of wind. The heroes would then return to Mount Stormtop, where Sonic once again used fan, extinguishing the magical fire formerly placed on the mountain by the Iron Queen.[1]

Iron Dominion Takeover[]

Several months before the Iron Dominion Takeover, the Iron King ordered his Yagyu underlings to steal the Fan of Fen Xing for his person collection, which they did, leaving the Free People with no way viable way of defeating him. However, Espio would later steal the Fan of Fen Xing on orders from the Bride of Constant Vigil, and would hand it over to Khan during a battle at the New Mobotropolis coliseum, who used its magical power to blow the Iron King away again.[3][4][2]
