The Arctic Zone^[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an artificial frozen tundra made inside a cave.

History[]

The Arctic Freedom Fighters took shelter in the Arctic Zone to hide from Dr. Robotnik. They built it by collecting discarded parts that Robotnik tossed aside over time. When it was finished, the Arctic Freedom Fighters used it to control the environment in the cave so they could have the same climate year-round. The Knothole Freedom Fighters used it to train in cold environments so they could destroy Robotnik's Weather Annihilator. It is likely that the zone was abandoned when the Arctic Freedom Fighters relocated to the Northern Tundra.^[1]
