ART OF FIGHT is a name related to several songs that serve as the theme of many Art of Fighting characters, such as Ryo Sakazaki. ART OF FIGHT was designed to be fast paced, but also featuring traditional Japanese instruments.

ART OF FIGHT[]

This theme acts as the theme for Ryuhaku Todoh, the first opponent the player faces in the first Art of Fighting game. The theme is very fast paced, and contains many traditional Japanese instruments.

Although the theme was designed to be Todoh's theme, the song became so memorable, that it would end up becoming the main theme for the Art of Fighting characters in other media, such as The King of Fighters series.

A remix of this theme appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The remix keeps the original's bass-focused approach, but uses traditional Japanese instruments like shakuhachi and shamisen, more akin to the Fatal Fury Special version of the song.

Art of Fighting Ver.230000000.0[]

ART OF FIGHT returns in Fatal Fury Special, now under the extremely and absurdly long name "Art of Fighting Ver.230000000.0". Unlike the original ART OF FIGHT, this theme now serves as the theme for Ryo Sakazaki, the protagonist of the Art of Fighting series. The track is much more fast paced, now having a techno-styled theme towards it.

Interestingly, the SNES port of Fatal Fury Special rearranges this song into a medley of all eight opponents’ themes from the original Art of Fighting.

ART OF FIGHT (The King of Fighters '98)[]

ART OF FIGHT appears again in "The King of Fighters '98". Unlike previous versions, this rendition of ART OF FIGHT is shared with not only Ryo, but with Robert and Yuri, as they are members of Team Art of Fighting. The theme also appears as EX Ryo, EX Robert, and EX Yuri's theme. Both the original and arranged version add a bass guitar accompanied with the traditional Japanese instruments.

ART OF FIGHT -Dragon, Tiger, and Swallow-[]

ART OF FIGHT returns in The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match, under the new name "ART OF FIGHT ~Dragon, Tiger, and Swallow~". This version of ART OF FIGHT is very rock heavy, having a main focus on guitars. The latter half contains the melody of "Yureru Otokogokoro", the theme of the Art of Fighting Team in The King of Fighters '95.

Trivia[]

  • Although only making 4 appearances, the theme of ART OF FIGHT would have similar theme in other tracks, such as Ryuu no Ken (from The King of Fighters '94), Yureru Otokogokoro (from The King of Fighters '95), Kyoku-Gen (from The King of Fighters 2003), After a long absence (from The King of Fighters XI), Kyokugen Training! ~Mountain Seclusion~ (from The King of Fighters XIII), and Tiger and Dragon (from The King of Fighters XIV).
