Synopsis

Summary
Handy is in his workshop with Diaper Daddy as his assistant. He tells the robot that he is making his greatest invention: the smurfactolator. Just then, DD powers down and crashes. Handy realizes that he is out of power and asks Dimwitty to power him. Smurfette comes up to him, saying that the door to her fence fell off its hinges. He goes to check the problem.
Within a couple minutes, Handy repairs it, while also adding his "smurfy bonus features" which is a hand that lets itself open the door for Smurfette. She tries it out and it seems to work, with her thanking Handy. All of a sudden, the door hand opens and closes the door rapidly. Handy tries to stop it, but he gets whacked away. He runs up to it and breaks it, making it malfunction - and now Smurfette needs the whole door fixed. This is followed by Blossom on a malfunctioning tricycle, and the breaks aren't working. She crashes off screen into the forest, and Handy realizes his turbo option wasn't a good idea. As they are speaking, DD ends up fixing Smurfette's door. She kisses him as gratitude, which annoys Handy,
Handy goes back into his workshop to work on his smurfactolator. He asks DD for a wrench, but the robot gives him the "wrong" one. He states that this is the better option, which makes Handy annoyed that he is acting full of himself because he fixed one door. He reassures that he is the repair Smurf, and DD is the repair robot. The robot wants to show him that he can work fast and runs to find something to repair in the village.
The robot turns out to be much more helpful - he fixes Vanity's mirror, Lily's skateboard, and Brainy's smurfway, all in less than 30 seconds. This makes Handy suspicious and slightly jealous.
DD also redesigned Chef's toaster, so now he can serve several waffles at once. The Smurfs are loving this idea, which makes Handy comment that he designed the toaster, which makes a Smurf mock him by saying this is why they haven't had toast in years, making his fellow Smurfs laugh. This agitates Handy, and he decides to go and show them who the builder is around her. DD is sad that Handy is angry and powers down, with Chef realizing he needs to power up again.
Dimwitty re-powers DD when Smurfette comes up to him and asks what Handy is repairing. Dimwitty misinterprets this, but suddenly, DD turns on and wants to know if Handy needs help. Handy assures him that no help is needed to create his new invention - the Bionic Smurf! It is a bionic exoskeleton that makes everything faster and better. He also added several of his bonus features and decides to demonstrate them. The exoskeleton, however, has a mind of its own. While Handy mocks DD, he powers the exoskeleton on and tries to work for the village. DD follows.
The exoskeleton does not make everything faster and better - it almost destroys Papa Smurf's telescope (which DD saves) and almost makes Clumsy and Dimwitty crash and breaks their ladder (which DD fixes). Handy's exoskeleton instead falls onto the floor while DD creates and fixes Farmer's tractor, giving it bonus features like Handy did.
Handy is now furious at DD, but as he goes into his workshop, he trips, causing several things to crash in it, and a wheel hits the button to power the exoskeleton. This causes it to go haywire and zooms out of control. Smurfette sees it and follows him. She alerts DD (who fixed Blossom's tricycle from earlier), who runs after her. Hefty also ends up coming along while the exoskeleton whacks him to the ground. Blossom also follows them as they all go into the forest.
Handy's machine continues going haywire into the forest, where it squashes a caterpillar. The machine trips and falls down to the bottom of a ravine. It hits a rock, which ends up almost falling on him. Handy tries to save himself with the machine, but as it is holding the rock, its bonus features aren't much help. The machine is about to be on its last life. DD wants to save his creator and runs down the ravine, helping him save himself. While it is almost successful, DD shuts down!
Handy remarks that he needs a better battery while also fearing his doom. Hefty offers to help, but Handy says he is not strong enough, and also reveals that he had broken the charger while being angry. He realizes the error that he had made in doing that. Just then, Blossom arrives with her tricycle, giving Handy an idea.
Blossom is used to speed pedal DD back to life. She manages to speed up even more when she imagines Gargamel chasing her, which powers up DD and works his hardest to save Handy. They lift the rock up in the air, and as it's about to hit them, DD doesn't want his master to die and takes him out of the exoskeleton as the invention crushes into the rock.
Handy, saved by DD, is free and the Smurfs cheer. Handy calls the robot a hero, and decides that from now on, he does all the repairs. Handy explains that he has lots of inventions to develop. Realizing he hasn't learned a thing about bad inventions, Smurfette and Hefty facepalm, but laugh as Blossom is still pedaling fast.
Trivia
- In this episode, outside of one line from Handy in the beginning, Diaper Daddy is simply referred to as "DD".
- This is the first episode to feature DD without Baby appearing.
- This is also the first time DD and Clumsy appear in the same episode.
- Grouping this episode with its sister episode in the US, this is the third episode in which Grouchy is absent from both segments, with the first two being "Brainy Gets Ghosted!"/"Gargamel Goes Gaga" and "Wild Gets Tamed"/"The Yummyus Pie".
- The first pan of the village in the beginning repeats footage from "Where's Papa Smurf?".
- Handy uses a camera in his exoskeleton. This is a camera's first appearance since "Say Smurf for the Camera!" indicating that cameras are still being used in the village.
- This is the first episode of the 2021 series in which Smurfette kisses a character that is not Hefty, in this case DD.
