Dragonfly refers to a species of reptilian insects introduced in Smurfs: The Lost Village. They resemble real-world dragonflies but also have various Dragon-like characteristics, notably laying eggs and breathing fire.
History[]
Upon the four Smurfs' first encounter with the species, Clumsy was abducted by one of the dragonflies and was forced to sleep in that creature's nest along with its eggs. When Gargamel later appeared on the scene after Clumsy managed to get himself out of the nest, the evil wizard took one of the eggs and threw it to Clumsy, who caught it and inadvertently brought the attention of the other dragonflies unto himself. Clumsy tried to toss the egg back to the dragonflies, but unfortunately the egg kept coming back to him. Eventually, Clumsy successfully got rid of the egg just before he fell into a hole to escape the dragonflies before they breathed fire on him.
