Kogure is amazed at his friend's recent reading attempt and tells himself that he can't match that effort. One of the colleagues in class asks Takenori as to how is the basketball team coming along. Akagi replies that his team has recruited some troubled first-year students, and moving forward, he needs to be stricter. Rukawa, while attending his class, is asleep. The instructor notices him, gets a bit irritated, and believes that Rukawa finds his teaching boring. One of Rukawa's colleagues tries to wake him up. The instructor approaches him and smacks him in the head. A furious Rukawa wakes up and states; he doesn't forgive anyone who disturbs him in his sleep. The instructor asks what he is talking about, and everyone in class goes into panic mode.

Due to being late and stopped by the Judo team members, Sakuragi misses his third period of class. The instructor asks Mito about the whereabouts of Hanamichi. Yohei informs his teacher he has no idea where his friend is. Meanwhile, outside Shohuko High, Hanamichi furiously asks the Judo team members who they are and what their purpose is to stop him. One of the members of the Judo team makes fun of Hanamichi's carefree attitude. Sakuragi gets a bit furious. They inform Hanamichi that on their captain, Aota's instruction, they're here to meet him. After the conclusion of the third period, Kogure and Takenori have a friendly discussion with their colleagues in class. While conversing, Akagi expresses his desire to become Inter-High champion. Kogure jokingly laughs at his friend and states to his colleagues that this has been Takenori's goal since middle school. Akagi corrects him it's since elementary school. Aota, the Shohuko High Judo team captain, makes his presence felt in the classroom and boldly states that his club will become Inter-High champion before the Shohuko High Basketball team.
