Ophelia Villa ( /oʊˈfiːljə ˈvɪlə/) is a residential lot in The Sims 4. It is an antiquated gothic manor with three bedrooms in the Pendula View neighborhood of Willow Creek, and serves as the residence for the Goth family. It features a somewhat similar design to 13 Skyborough Boulevard from The Sims 3, though it is considerably smaller and only has three stories instead of four.
The house was redesigned in patch 174 to make use of many of the new items patched into the game over the years, and will be placed by default in new saves. The original version of the house is available in the Library.
Pre-Patch 174 version[]
The first floor opens into a grand foyer that is open to the dining room at the back of the house, as well as large drawing room, a bathroom, and a large kitchen with a breakfast nook. The house's second floor features a large landing with a grand piano, a master bedroom with red-upholstered furniture for Mortimer and Bella, a large bathroom, Cassandra's bedroom, and a balcony. The third floor appears to be a tower with windows on each side that serves as a bedroom for Alexander.
Unlike every iteration of the Goth family home from previous games, Ophelia Villa notably lacks a family graveyard. This is most likely due to the fact ghosts were not featured in the game upon its initial release. Players who wish to make Ophelia Villa haunted like other iterations of the Goth home can either kill a Sim and add their grave to the lot, add the Spooky lot challenge with the City Living expansion pack, and/or change the lot type to Haunted House Residential with the Paranormal stuff pack. It does lack a few things present in older Goth homes in the main franchise because the base game of The Sims 4 was missing many things, such as ghosts and family trees, upon release.
Two windows in the dining room have duplicate curtains by default, which can be removed to reduce the lot value.
Post-Patch 174 version[]
The house now has a lot trait, Great Acoustics, which the original didn't have. This will increase the rate at which Sims gain instrument skills, such as when using the family's piano or Cassandra's violin.
The layout of the house is slightly more compact than the original version to make room for a small graveyard in the back. Some of the tall fences around the yard have also been replaced with shorter metal ones, and the backyard has a matching fence around the graves. Coming up to the front door, there is a small wraparound porch with a doormat and flower boxes on the windows.
The foyer is smaller than the original, but just as grand, with expensive artwork. There are two archways leading to the living room, which now contains the house's piano, as well as a double door leading to the kitchen. The kitchen no longer has a breakfast nook, and leads directly into the dining room through an archway. The house's back door is also in the kitchen, which leads out to the graveyard. The graveyard has two decorative gravestones, as well as a firefly effect spawner.
The second floor has a large, open hallway connecting Alexander and Cassandra's bedrooms, and a shared bathroom. The house's infamous, expensive knight statues have been moved here from the foyer. There is also a balcony with a telescope on this floor.
The third floor has a small hallway with an arch leading to a dark, moody office. Another door leads into a storage room with a chest, and the third door leads into Mortimer and Bella's bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom.
