This article is about content that did not make it into the final version of multiple Sim games.
Unused accessories The parents', teenager's and police officer's hairstyles are not in the game
An unused accessory is an accessory (such as an article of clothing or hairstyle) that appears in early screenshots or in-game (either on a family tree icon or in a storytelling picture) but does not physically appear in the game itself. These occur in most Sims games, including The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 (though most of the The Sims 4 unused content is from Olympus concept art), but it is much more noticeable in The Sims 2. There are several Sims with noticeable unused content in-game such as Irma Oldie and Gertrude Beaker.
Some unused accessories are present in the game files, but are either incomplete or hidden. In some cases, custom content creators have been able to recover or unlock the content and make it available.

French Braid[]
The French braid hairstyle is in the game, however the texture (the little tufts of hair are almost looking like clumps rather than strands) are similar to the final except for the color and texture style.
While the Adult, Elder, and Child versions of the hairstyle are no longer in the game, the mesh files for the Teen version are still present in the game's package files. However, the hair texture is no longer present in the game.

The Pageboy hairstyle in real life was very popular during the late 50s and 60s.
The Pageboy hairstyle appeared throughout The Sims 2 development that ultimately scrapped once the game was released.
The Bowl Twist hair is actually the game as the mesh is relatively the same but for the texture being different.

Bella Squared Hair/Jennifer Hair[]
This hair originated from The Sims Online. It was possibly converted for The Sims 2, which could be that The Sims 2 was in development, around when The Sims Online was still a thing back then. In The Sims Online, in the files of the head's model and texture were labeled as Jennifer. A long hair with an unknown name was most notably seen on the girl, that heavily resembles a beta version of Bella Goth. The hair model can still be found in a PS2 port of The Sims 2. Though there is no existing model or textures in any files of any ports other than PS2 of The Sims 2, there is a recreation of this hair that can be downloaded here.
