Milk is an American biographical-drama movie. It was released in 2008. It is based on the life of gay politician Harvey Milk. It was directed by Gus Van Sant. It stars Sean Penn, Victor Garber, Emile Hirsch, James Franco, and Josh Brolin.

The movie's score was composed by Danny Elfman. The movie was released on November 26, 2008 to very positive reviews. It was nominated for many awards including for Best Picture. Penn won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Harvey.
