Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION is the first season of Shinkalion. It was first broadcasted in Japan in 2018. In early June 2019, it became known that Shinkalion would be replaced in its timeslot by a program related to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and thus end its run on June 29, 2019. [1]
Story[]
A young boy and railfan, Hayato, accidentally discovers that his father is part of a secret organization. The organization combats mysterious beings with Shinkalions, bullet trains that turn into giant robots. Hayato shows a surprising amount of aptitude as a Shinkalion driver, based on him using an application on his father's tablet that he mistook for a mobile game. Despite initial concerns from the adult members of the organization about having children as pilots, Hayato joins several other kids in using the Shinkalions to willingly fight against evil.
