The gorgeous-looking Brigitte Van Doren was a extremely successful actress in the the early 1960's. Donald Duck happened to go to the same golf course as her in 1961, and her appearance stole his thunder just as he managed a hole-in-one.

Snarlin Grando was only ever seen in the 1961 story Sitting High. Her name is a mashup of famous actresses Brigitte Bardot and Mamie Van Doren's. Oddly enough, Brigitte Van Doren is drawn almost identically to another acress caricature introduced by Barks in the same story, Jayne Girlsfield.
