Thinking of you…

I only have a minute to make this post so it will have to be short and sweet today.  This is a card for an inspiration photo over at FYI.  What a gorgeous color combination and photo!  My interpretation from the photo is well obviously the colors, but I also tried to mimick the bridge with my rolling hills.  Thought it was past time for me to show some love to some of my first stamps I ever purchased from Stampin Up.  Love this tree set!   If I had time to make this card again, I think I would have made the hills more pronounced.  Oh well …next time.

Hope you are having a good week and find some time for yourself!

Another Birthday Card…

Happy Monday,  Well not sure there is such a thing…lol.  Hope everyone in the blogosphere had a wonderful weekend.  The card I have to post today is for 2 challenges.  The first is over at Retro Sketches and the other is for a color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  The colors were Rasberry, Harbour and Honey Mustard.  These colors proved very difficult for me especially the mustard.  Not my favorite card despite LOVING the sketch, but what can a girl do but keep trying!

Thanks so much for stopping in and you can always try your hand at both challenges…. I have linked them up for you!

For Someone Special

Happy Spring fellow Stampers,  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I had a bit of time to play and be creative today and this is what I came up with.  The card is for four different challenges, a sketch challenge, a color challenge and a Cricut challenge and a Spring Challenge.  The fabulous sketch is for Freshly Made Sketches and the colors were chosen for me at CR84FN50.  They are Pink, Orange and Yellow!   I am so excited that I found the last challenge and it is for a blog devoted to the Cricut.  I have been using my Cricut more and more lately and just love it!!  The challenge was to have at least 3 flowers on your project.  I used my George and Basic Shapes Cartridge to  make my flowers.  I like the effect with the circles cut out of the DP and didn’t want to cover them completely with the flowers so decided to off set them. (hope that’s okay for the sketch challenge)  This is the first time I have participated over at CR84FN50 and the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, but I can tell you it will not be the last.  And last but not least, I am a huge Stamp TV fan and the challenge over there was to make a Spring Card.  I think that covers all my challenges!

What a great group of talent at all these sites…. won’t you join me!

Have a great day,

Scrapbooking Again!

I thought is was time since my website name is Scrapperatheart…that I incorporate some of my scrapbook pages onto my blog.  These are two of some of my favorite pages.  The only thing I dislike about them is my handwriting.  They say one of the true signs of a meaningful scrapbook is one with the creators handwriting in it.  So there you go!  Like or dislike I guess it’s meaningful. LOL I do find that when I find something with my mother’s handwriting on it, I do treasure it more….especially recipe cards.  As you might notice in the photos we are all a lot younger here…well I didn’t say my scrapbooking was current. Who’s is right?

I hope you have a wonderful day and I have inspired you to scrapbook again if you haven’t in awhile!

I’m glad I did!

Thanks Friend

Hello Cyber friends.  The card I have for today is for the new site I was telling you about. It’s called Retro Sketches and this is their 3rd challenge so far. In case you didn’t notice I flipped the sketch…hope that’s okay! I really enjoy visiting them and playing along!  I am sure you can see that I am still in love with my new paper pack cause I used it again.  Third time is a charm they say!  It was a great buy at Hobby Lobby!  It’s from DCWV and is called LA Creme. The sentiment is a freebie I won over at Stamp TV ( enjoy the Sunshine set) and the image is also from Hobby Lobby!  Love winning new supplies!!!

Thanks for visiting…I so love when you do!

A Pattern, An Image and A Sentiment

Today I have a CAS card for you for a challenge over at Casual Fridays.  I struggle with CAS cards…do you???  Well as they say practice makes perfect….I think I need more practice!! LOL  The challenge is to use a Pattern, An Image and a Sentiment.  Isn’t that a clever way to write the challenge?  Won’t you join me at Causal Fridays and try your hand at CAS!

Masculine Card

I have a dear friend who has been diagnosed with cancer so I am in need of a masculine card to send to him.  It is so sad and such a wake up call to all of us to take each day and make it special, cause you just never know.  He is having more tests this week to see his prognosis and to determine the plan of treatment.  We are praying for the best!  Unto the card.  This card is for the Freshly Made Sketch of the week that you can find Here!  The tag is from Verve and the Sentiment I have had forever!  The DP however is brand new.  I just went to Hobby Lobby for the first time yesterday and picked up this really cool pack of paper!  It’s from DCWV and is called LA Creme.  LOVE IT!  I don’t know if you can tell in the photo, but some of the Stars are coming through the Dark Gray paper and are not on top.

Have a great week…back to work I go,

Hello…

Happy Friday,  Just got back from day 2 at the beach with the Hubby. It was another gorgeous day!  Today is hubby’s Birthday so I need to make this post quick and get back to spending the day with him.  This card was intended to be for 2 challenges, but unfortunately I missed one of them. 😦  I absolutely hate when this happens!!  Anyways, I am happy to say that I didn’t miss the challenge over at Our Creative Corner.  They came up with this great idea!!!  You have to Choose “three in a row” on the Tic-Tac-Toe board and make sure you work those elements into your papercraft project. Isn’t that clever???  So I chose pink, stickers and ribbon.  The stickers are the alphabet stickers from my scrapbooking stash!  The other challenge this card WAS for is over at a new blog called Retro Sketches.  Hopefully I can join them next time!

Hope you like it and if you hurry you still have time to join me in one of these challenges!

You’re in my thoughts

What a fabulous day I have had.  I went to the beach with some girlfriends, took the trolley to the BeachHouse for lunch and now I am home with good start on my summer tan and I feel so relaxed  exhausted!  The beach does that to you!  It was so nice to get out for some girlfriend time for a change, I don’t do enough of that!  It’s Spring Break here as I have mentioned and we all felt like tourists ourselves as we got on the Trolley, so fun!  Okay, I am also excited for the card I have for you today.  I managed to incorporate this card for 2 different challenges.  The 1st one is for Stamp TV, to “Go green” not the color green as you might think, but to incorporate an item that you might typically throw away.  So I decided to go out to my hubby’s workshop and have a look around.  I found these small wooden dowels in his trash can and I thought Hmmm this might work.  And it did just that!   The 2nd challenge this card is for, is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #154 that I love to play along with and have missed a couple of times lately.  Glad I didn’t miss this one! Karen Giron is soooo talented and I follow her blog religiously!

Sentiment: Stamp TV….Say it with flowers.

Paper: K1 Paisley Parade.

My cricut and cuttlebug.

Thanks so much for letting me share my day with you,

My hand at Sponging a background…

Well, it was about time I tackled Theresa Momber’s gorgeous sponging technique to make a background and stop saying someday I want to try this.  Well, the someday was yesterday!  I came across this Inspiration photo challenge over at FYI and knew their was also a deadline approaching over at Stamp TV for sponging,  so I decided to combine the two challenges and this is what I came up with.  Well, certainly you can tell that I need some more work.   A couple of the colors on the edges got darker than I wanted them to, and I have a line where the horizon meets the clouds that is probably not necessary, but hey I am a newbie at this!  However, I am very pleased for my first attempt.

I took my inspiration for my mountains from the sky in the photo.  I didn’t use the orange and substituted pink instead.

The sentiment is from Timeless Treasures over at Stamp TV.

I challenge you to try something you have been procrastinating!!!

 Good luck!
