Have a Wonderful Birthday

Hello Friends, It is Thursday and time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday. Ashwini is our hostess and here is our Topping.

What this means is, in your card, for the focal image, use only one stamp and stamp it only once. No more stamping is allowed on the focal image. However, you are free to color it and free to do anything else with the rest of the card.

For my card, I decided to use one of my favorite Pink Fresh Studio stamps and stencil combos-Choose Hope which I hadn’t used in quite a long time. The sentiment is from a fabulous set called Sweet Lattice Sentiments from Waffle Flower. Before I glued down my sentiment, I decided that the card still needed something so I used the negative piece of the MFT Watercolored Wash Rectangle and inked a yellow frame. A few sequins and I was done.

I hope you will come on over to Seize the Birthday and play along with us, we would love to have you. Take care, Nanc’

I’ll Be Home for Christmas

Hello Friends, I am excited to share with you today these two cards from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders Timeless Trees Collection. It is such a terrific Collection and now I am sorry it took so long for me to have a chance to create with them. Today, I have used two sets; Mantle Village and Mantle Decorations. I knew I wanted to use a soft teal and when I came across this great piece of DSP the rest of the colors came together perfectly. When I sit down to create I try to only use three color families. Less is best, so they say.

These two sets can be bought separately or together.

I think my favorite part is the Christmas banner. Wish I had one for my home.

On my second card, I decided to foil a greeting instead. The greeting is part of the Home for Christmas Sentiment set. Also, on the second card I decided to double the trees for added dimension and I like it even better.

I am linking up with my friend Darnell over at NBUS.

Welcome Baby

Hello Friends, Hope you are doing well and this card puts a smile on your face today. It is time to share some new club products from Spellbinders. The Embossing Folder of the Month is called Cascading Streamers and the Die of the Month is called Birthday Bliss. I think the sloth is pretty darn cute, don’t you? The die set also has a turtle that I will share with you soon.

I was delighted to find this piece of DSP in my stash as I feel it matched the Embossing Folder perfectly. The rest of the card really needs no explanation. It was a great card to also use up some of my many paper scraps. The sentiment is old and from Verve.

Joy to the World/New Affiliation

Hello Friends, I have one more card to share with you using more of the fabulous release from Papertrey Ink. I have used the Bigs Christmas Sentiments with the Pretty Packages stenciled previously released on today’s card. I enjoyed stenciling up my background so much using various colors of Oxide Inks. The tiny gifts come from the Deerest Blessings set is also in this Christmas release. I popped them up with some Foam Squares. I also added some paper gems using my favorite Treasured Gold Card Stock to the center of my bows and on the card front.

In other news, I now have an affiliation with Scrapbook.com YAY! So, if you love to shop where all your favorite products are under one roof, I have them linked above for you. I also have a direct link on my sidebar. As always I appreciate any of your support!

Happy Holidays

Hello friends, I am back with a non-traditional color Christmas card using the gorgeous newest Amaryllis Die from Yana Smakula and Spellbinders. This die and sentiment pairing that I have used today are found in the Amaryllis Christmas Collection.

I started with some fall-inspired colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week. I decided it had been eons since I used my Alcohol Inks so I made myself a colorful panel to then use to paper piece my Amaryllis. What I love about this technique is you don’t have to make a gorgeous background for it to turn out well, if you are in the end cutting it up. The flaws end up being hidden. My Gold Alcohol ink would not mix very well no matter how hard or long I shook it so that was a bit of a disappointment but I think it worked out okay in the end.

I first cut out the outline of the Amaryllis with a piece of vellum so I could have a base to glue everything to. Then I used my favorite Gold Treasured Cardstock to cut out the outline of the gorgeous flower and then next was to cut it out again using the alcohol paper. Paper Piecing is not for everyone but it is something I do enjoy. The sentiment was foiled in gold.

I will also link up with my friend, Darnell over at NBUS.

Did I go too far with these colors for a Christmas card?

Another CAS Christmas Card

Hello Friends, I am back with another CAS Christmas card using the latest products from Papertrey Ink. I am using the tree from the Deerest Blessings Stamps and Dies and part of the Bigs Sentiments. I don’t believe this card needs any explanation as it came together in just a few minutes. I’m not sure you can tell but my white panel is inlaid into the polka-dotted DSP.

I am linking up over at Simply Clean and Simple for their Christmas is Coming Theme challenge.

This release from PTI is available now and I still have one more card to share very soon.

Take care and have a wonderful day! Nanc’

Red and Black at Color Hues

Hello Friends, How is it the 1st of November already? I honestly can say I am not sure I can even remember October as things have been less than boring around here. Since apparently my watch and calendar aren’t lying, it is time for the next hues of colors at Color Hues. Karen has chosen a wonderful duo for us; Red and Black. I loved it so much that I made two cards to share. This layout is not a new design for me but is one of my go-to favorites.

I have been making many cards for the store, to donate, as they were closed for so long and lost so much revenue, and among their many requests, they wanted wedding cards.

Before we see card number two. I want to thank DT member Cindy Beach for starting this journey with me over at Color Hues 4 years ago. I am sad to say that today is her final post with us. Her dedication, creativity, and genuine kindness will be sorely missed. Cindy, please visit us from time to time and please don’t stop creating, you have too much talent not to share. I also wish you many years of happiness in your new home. Take care!

We also have 2 special guests joining us today, We have Izzy Scraps and Colleen Begley. They were both winners of previous challenges. Thanks for being with us ladies.

Here is card #2.

Card Details #1- Stitched Hearts-MFT, Sentiment-MFT-Everything Wonderful, EF-Cuttlebug-no name, Perfect Touch Rectangle Tags and Dies-Spellbinders, Tiny Hearts are Spellbinders, Bow Tie-Paper Smooches, Rhinestones

Merry Christmas

Hello Friends, I hope you are doing well. I know what you are thinking…Green Poinsettias…really Nancy! I will explain!

Today’s card is one of those cards that started off with a mistake, with more mistakes to follow, but I think I managed to save it in the end. I am sure you all have had that happen a time or two. It is part of the creative process and we just have to embrace it, don’t we!

I have been itching to use this new Festive Poinsettias Press Plate from the Amaryllis Christmas Collection by Yana Smakula. It has a coordinating stencil and is also sold as a bundle. Let me say, it is very beautiful.

Let’s talk about these mistakes or should I say design and or color enhancements? LOL

My first mistake was my foiling wasn’t perfect. I know it was because the paper was too thin. However, I wanted to use cream and didn’t have any heavy cream-colored cardstock so I went for it anyway. I used this really pretty Satin Rose Gold foil that I absolutely love! Then the second mistake was, that I put my blending brush in the Evergreen Bough ink pad and started blending the poinsettia. So, I said to myself, Green Poinsettias sounds interesting. 🤣 And I continued on. I managed to cover up the worst part of the foiling with my sentiment panel so that helped a ton. I refuse to throw anything away if I can help it.

I used five colors of Oxide Inks; Evergreen Bough, Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral, and Candied Apple. The sentiment is called Home for Christmas and was foiled in the same Satin Rose Gold onto a Notched Cornered Frames die-cut panel. These products and all the embellishments are listed below.

Photographing this card in the end was very hard as well. You will have to trust me that it is very pretty in person.

I am linking up with Addicted to Stamps and More for their Die Cuts and Stencil Challenge and over with my girls at Just Us Girls for Stencil Week.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Noel

Hello Friends, I am back with more from the Papertrey Ink October release. Today we are also having a Blog Hop over on Instagram. So if you have an IG account you might want to check it out. There are some Gift Cards available to lucky commenters. HERE is a link to the beginning of the HOP.

This card was made with the Deerest Blessings Stamps and matching dies and also the Line it Up dies. The Line it Up Dies comes with 5 different sentiments and I think the font on this Noel is just so pretty.

I heat embossed the markings in gold on the deers and the fancy bow. The rest is cut from my favorite Gold Treasured Cardstock from Spellbinders. The snowbanks are a rolling hills die from Lawn Fawn.

This release becomes available today- Tuesday, October 29th at Noon.

Make sure you also head over to Papertrey Ink and check out the cards by the talented Design Team and to Instagram too for the Hop!

I am not quite finished with this release so I will see you soon! Take care and have a wonderful day! Nanc’
