SCP-4998

SCP-4998 ("Space Available, Inquire Within") is the collective designation referring to several advertisements, logos and insignias of corporations, brands and organizations manifesting by anomalous ways in spaces that have not been utilized or possible for advertising. When subjects observe these manifestations, their interest in the brand is increased greatly.

Origins[]

In the 23rd century, in the midst of the Seventh Great Corporate War, Miguel, the great-great grandson of Donald Trump, would fund and be part of the creation of SCP-4998, calling it the "best thing since the printing press". The purpose was to exploit time travel to alter brand lovalty to change the course of the war in the corporations' favor, going centuries back in time. The first instances of SCP-4998 began manifesting sometime in the 2010s.

Notable occurrances[]

On July 5, 2017, the Foundation's insignia appeared on a hot air balloon during the annual European Balloon Festival in Igualada, Spain. When it materialized on the balloon after 12 minutes, an aerial unit was dispatched to escort the balloon to a safe landing spot. However, many spectators have been exposed to the Foundation's insignia, risking a BK-Class "Broken Masquerade" scenario. Due to SCP-4998's memetic effect of increasing interest in the brands that it manifests, this caused many who observed it to be curious as to where the Foundation's insignia came from, even after previously being amnesticized. After 4 days, the Foundation insignia disappeared from the balloon. This would later be known as Incident HABSPA.

On July 13, 2018, an instance of SCP-4998 manifested on Site-49's Eastern wall of the Weaponry Annex, reading "Ad space available, inquire at [REDACTED]". The number, when called, led to Miguel. Several phone calls were made between Miguel and the Foundation, originally from Agent Charles Belopolsky, then O5-7 after his passing, to explain the anomaly at hand, and to make deals with him, one where Agent Belopolsky directed Miguel to place the Foundation insignia on the headquarters of a rival Group of Interest.

As time went on, Agent Belopolsky passed away due to several advertisements appearing within his own thoracic cavity. The amount of SCP-4998 instances increased greatly, with them appearing in the walls of Foundation installations, their chambers, their bathrooms, SCIPnet, even in SCP-915. The information gathered from Miguel would be useful in determining the course of the future and the direction SCP-4998 will go.

After each call, a burner phone with the same number seen in the Site-49 manifestation was found within a 25 m radius, with several pictures uploaded onto it. Forensic data gathered from the phones showed a 6.25% match with Donald Trump. The biological material would later dematerialize.

The instances continued to appear afterward, with the creation of a Thaumiel-class ad blocker to solve the amount of instances in progress within the Foundation.
