Plot[]
After Stu sells an invention, he tells the kids that he's planning to buy them a swimming pool in the backyard. While digging up the yard, the construction crew unearths the Rugrats' old mechanical Reptar toy. The kids fondly remember it (all of them but Dil), but decide to throw it away, until, during an electrical storm, they become convinced that they have angered Reptar. Chuckie reminds every one of the important effects Reptar had on their lives, especially how it led to his dad meeting Kimi's mom. They ultimately decide to rescue the toy, and realize that, although they are growing up, they cannot forget their past.
Trivia[]
- For 16 years, this is Reptar's last appearance in the Rugrats franchise, as well as his last official appearance in All Grown Up! until the 2021 reboot.
- The movie they watch and the whole episode is possibly a parody to the 1982 film, Poltergeist. The family digs up something, throws it away, and a curse happens. Reptar is the curse that they threw away (not really, just faulty pipes).
- This episode was the first to appear on TeenNick and on the rebrand of The 90's Are All That, The Splat (Now NickRewind). The second one was "R.V. Having Fun Yet?".
- A flashback of Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil as Rugrats along with Spike (1991) playing with Reptar is shown. This marks the first episode to feature Tommy as a Rugrat in All Grown Up, the third time for Chuckie, and the 2nd time for Phil and Lil.
- Ending Tagline: "Come on, guys! I smell herring!" - Dil
- Chuckie mentions the events of the Rugrats episodes "At the Movies", "Incident in Aisle Seven", "Candy Bar Creep Show", "Reptar on Ice" and the second movie Rugrats in Paris: The Movie.
- Dil wearing a hockey mask is a reference to Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise.
- It reveals the gang wanted a pool since there were Rugrats.
- Goof: Phil, Lil, Kimi, and Angelica all disappear when they ran back went inside as in the last scene Tommy, Chuckie and Dil were the only ones in Tommy's room.
- Goof: Why is Dill sleeping in Tommy's room at the end of the episode?
- Goof: In Tommy's dream when the babies are asleep Tommy is sleeping between Chuckie and Lil but in the next shot, he's sleeping next to Phil.
