Private Second Class Owens was a member of the Army of the Southern Cross and part of the first graduating class following the First Robotech War. He harbored a dislike of fellow Cadet and hybrid Dana Sterling, calling her a "half-breed". At their ceremony, Sterling pinned his chair so when he sat up, his pants would rip.
