Liberty Observer is a small fleet consisting of several Binary-class Battlecruisers and Pulsar-class Light Cruisers that patrol between Space Station Liberty and Earth in the leadup to the Second Robotech War. Shortly before the arrival of the Robotech Masters, the patrol was traveling with the elite 9th and 12th TASC squadrons, the Cobra Squadron and Black Lions Squadron, who have taken part in the testflights of the AGAC at Liberty Station. They are unexpectedly set upon by the arrival of the Masters, though the skirmish ended in a draw.
