Nothing is known of Mintie's background. Her husband, Hart Cummings, is buried at Odd Fellow's Rest. She is supposedly a widow and in a relationship with Theodore Eaves which would explain why they would live in The Old Bacchus Place isolated from major towns.
During the mission Justice in Pike's Basin Mintie, one of Mr. Gulch's ranch hands, is among those taken by cattle rustlers into Pike's Basin. After a battle with the rustlers, John and his allies successfully rescue her, along with the other ranchers and cattle.
Her poster lists her as a mother, indicating that she has children.
Theodore makes mention that he is in a relationship with Mintie. Since Red Dead Redemption takes place in a time when it was illegal for people to date interracially in the United States [1] , this may explain why they live in such a secluded spot hidden from civilization.
