Mintie Cummings is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption.

Background[]

Nothing is known of Mintie's background. Her husband, Hart Cummings, is buried at Odd Fellow's Rest. She is supposedly a widow and in a relationship with Theodore Eaves which would explain why they would live in The Old Bacchus Place isolated from major towns.

Events of Red Dead Redemption[]

Mintie can often be found in Armadillo, going about her daily business, but can occasionally be found in other towns in New Austin. However, she can also be found at The Old Bacchus Place, where she appears to live with Theodore Eaves. She is also found at Ridgewood Farm, where she also seems to live, even sleeping there, along with Gladys Feaney and Eunis Randle.

During the mission Justice in Pike's Basin Mintie, one of Mr. Gulch's ranch hands, is among those taken by cattle rustlers into Pike's Basin. After a battle with the rustlers, John and his allies successfully rescue her, along with the other ranchers and cattle.

Events of Undead Nightmare[]

In Undead Nightmare, she is one of the missing souls to be located in the "Missing Persons" Side-missions. She is found at Riley's Charge and must be returned to Fort Mercer. Mintie can also be found at Fort Mercer, where she is in no danger from the undead due to the Fort being designated as a safe zone. During the day, she will often walk around the northern side of the Fort conversing with other survivors; at nighttime, she will sleep in a bedroom on the second level along with Eunis Randle, Nancy Drummond, and Winona Picket.

Mintie can also be found defending Thieves' Landing were she is on top of the warehouse or on one of the buildings.

• Her poster lists her as a mother, indicating that she has children.
• Theodore makes mention that he is in a relationship with Mintie. Since Red Dead Redemption takes place in a time when it was illegal for people to date interracially in the United States [1] , this may explain why they live in such a secluded spot hidden from civilization.
• She shares a character head with Mrs. Shelton.
• Theodore mentions that Mintie's husband, Hart, does not know of their relationship. However, Hart is dead.
• Judging by some of her quotes, it is implied she has a deceased father, however she never mentions a mother.
