There's nothing like the bond between girlfriends, is there, Nikki? You must really miss her.
~ Scott Dunn taunting Beckett.

Scott Dunn is the main antagonist of the Castle episodes "Tick, Tick, Tick" and “Boom!” He is an aspiring writer who seeks to create the perfect story by committing horrible crimes in the real world.

He is portrayed by Dameon Clarke

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • In the past, he committed arson, murdered several prostitutes and pinned it on someone else before staging his scapegoat’s suicide, and then stabbed a man to death and stole his identity.
  • He frames Ben Conrad, a man whose dog was killed by another dog but lost the ensuing court case, by killing three people involved in the case. Once the police get on Ben Conrad’s tail, he murders Conrad, who he had been holding captive, and makes it look like a suicide.
  • He taunts Beckett by calling her every time he kills someone.
  • He tries to kill Beckett with a bomb in her apartment. When she survives, he kills a completely random person to vent his anger, then taunts Beckett by telling her that his victim would still be alive had Beckett died like she was supposed to.
  • He abducts FBI Agent Jordan Shaw, taunts Beckett over it, and then lures the FBI and SWAT detail to a different building than the one he’s holding Shaw, which he’s rigged with a bomb in an attempt to wipe out the entire FBI and swat detail.
  • Despite being psychotic, Dunn shows clear moral agency given the pride he takes in being an awful person as well as his meticulous efforts to divert the authorities.
