“ It's too late, Majima...! The wheels are already spinning. War will consume the east and the west. And the Tojo Clan will fade. Things are just about to get interesting! It'll be prime entertainment! So I'll go ahead... and get the best seat in the house. „
~ Ibuchi, right before he shoots himself in the head.

Kei Ibuchi is the main antagonist of Yakuza Kiwami 2's "Majima Saga" extra storyline. He is the patriach of the Ibuchi Family, a subsidiary of the Tojo Clan, and wants to modernize the yakuza industry by having them get rid of any "old-fashioned" morals.

He was voiced by Takehito Koyasu, who is most known for voicing Dio Brando.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He got Ryota Kawamura, a gambling addict with massive debts, to murder Akinobu Uematsu, his rival in the Tojo Clan Reformation plan held by Yukio Terada, the fifth Tojo Clan chairman, and told Goro Majima he is the most likely suspect of Uematsu's death due to him recently beating out Uematsu in the plan.
  • After having Kawamura murdering an Omi Alliance executive, he shoots him while mockingly saying that his debts have been fully paid for.
  • He reveals to Majima he has plans of wanting to update the yakuza industry, by having them dispose of any trace of morals or honor, which Ibuchi calls outdated and illogical. He tells Majima he plans of Tojo Clan chairman by having Terada push him up in the ranks and states that he would have to eliminate Terada when he gets the chance to, and once he becomes chairman would hand the Tojo to the Omi Alliance. He also tells Majima the reason he had Kawamura murder an Omi Alliance executive was to start a war between the Omi and the Tojo in order to ensure the two yakuza organizations would successfully combine.
  • His last actions are smugly saying to Majima that it's too late for him and that a war between the two clans is already brewing, and right after he shoots himself in the head, stating he would get "the best seat in the house".
  • While the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series' heinous standards is quite high, Ibuchi stands out for starting a mob war between two yakuza factions, which he states would envelop the east and west regions in Japan and thus showing he doesn't care if civillian lives are dragged into the mess, and intending to make the yakuza world, an already incredibly dangerous and violent society, even worse by making them get rid of any sense of ideals and honor they may have, as well as having less resources than some other villains who do worse.

Trivia[]

  • He heavily resembles Ryo Takashima from the PS2 original, just with updated textures.
