There are no more nations, just continents - that now became Kingdoms. In America, Queen Susan decides to resign her position and creates a competition, under her assistant Alyson's command, to choose her successor: the Game of Specials. That attracts many people's attention, mainly the so-called Specials, privileged humans born with some kind of superpower. The others are Ordinaries, who also could participate in the Game, even though they would be in disadvantage. Amongst the contenders, we have the sisters Lizzie and Carrie. The latter was born with superior abilities with ninja weapons like swords and knives - and became a cop. Unlike Lizzie, the younger one - an ordinary woman - a history teacher who is always trying to prove her value. They both enter the Game of Specials, where only one of them can win. Other key players are, on the Ordinary side: a homeless man called Dev, the gangster Francesc and his partner Marc.
