The outlaw who robbed and shot him thinks the wife may have received a letter with information about the mines location. Lt. Rip Masters, Sgt. O'Hara, Rusty, and Rin Tin Tin accompany her on the search using clues from her letter. The outlaws kidnap the wife but are stopped by Rinny and the troopers.
