Plotting revenge, the God of Wine one day induces Cupid to become tipsy, and then deserts him, lying upon the river bank. Lycas, a young shepherd, finds the sleeping Cupid and succeeds in restoring him, and, fortunately, at this moment, Leona appears, followed by the ardent Bacchus. The shamed Cupid resolves to make things right and shoots one of his darts at Leona, who immediately falls into the arms of her true lover, the shepherd.
