Odoren (オドレン Odoren)? is one of the antagonists from Pretty Cure All Stars: Haru no Carnival♪.
Bio[]
Appearance[]
Odoren is a tall man with brown hair and light skin. He wears a black suit with a cape. On his head he has a purple hat with a large yellow feather.
Personality[]
Odoren has some strategic ability, shown as he formulates a somewhat elaborate plan to defeat the Cures. However this is offset by the fact that he is somewhat cowardly, refusing to fight the cures hand to hand. He takes great pride in his thievery but is willing to take a step back from it when it becomes too much trouble for him.
Etymology[]
His name comes from the Japanese word for dance, odoru (踊る)?.
History[]
He is first shown taking over the kingdom of Harmonia with Utaen. The rulers of Harmonia are distressed about this because then they cannot host the spring carnival that they have invited the Pretty Cure too. Odoren and Utaen choose to not call it off and instead plan to steal the Pretty Cures' transformation items.
They first meet the Happiness Charge and Go! Princess teams outside the palace and invite them in. During the carnival he and Utaen are civil but a bit awkward with the Cures awkward. After the first few performances, the duo steps aside and sings a duet about their plans to defeat Pretty Cure. While the carnival is going on they invite the fairies to take breaks to get a snack with the intention of kidnapping them. The Cures slowly become suspicious throughout the event.
After their plans are exposed, the villains trap most of the Cures, except the Go! Princess team, in the basement, and also locked the transformation items in a large chest. In one scene, Odoren tries to become a Pretty Cure but fails. However, the Go! Princess Cures are able to free the transformation items through the power of song, which gives the Cures back their powers.
The duo sends their minions out to attack the Cures, but their plans are cut short when they are attacked by the dragon. At the end of the movie, Odoren decides that thievery isn't for him and ends up becoming a janitor.
