Magic (魔法, Magic)^? is the main abstract concept that is frequently mentioned and used in Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!.

Characteristics and Powers[]

Magic is a mystical force created by the deceased deity Mother RaPaPa. It is mostly untouchable, but when spells are being cast, it will present itself in sparkles or bright glows. It is also the main source for the Cures' transformations and attacks, which are tied to the Linkle Stones, which are fragments of magic itself.

Millennia ago, magic was more accessible to every living being in the universe. However, after Mother RaPaPa sacrificed herself in her battle with Deusmast, two worlds were created afterward, where only Magic World's residents can use magic. Because of this, Magic World has enforced a rule of not using magic publicly in No Magic World, to avoid causing panic or fear in the No Magic World.

To cast magic, one must receive a special wand from the Magic World's Wand Tree. However, special individuals, for instance, as Kotoha, can harness magic through special tools, like Kotoha using the Linkle Smartbook and her stylus pen.

Basic magic involves thawing out Frozen Mandarins, making animals talk, telekinesis, commanding objects to perform tasks, fortune-telling, making flowers bloom, and flying on Magic Brooms. Stronger spells include generating flames as protection and activating magic circles.

Only gifted individuals, mainly Kotoha, can harness advanced spells, such as size manipulation, creating things from scratch via imagination, and special abilities like communicating with animals, and age manipulation. Supernatural happenings can also occur because of her magic, like floating creatures in the sky, and her attack Emerald Reincarnation involves reversing beings into their primal stages. When using her powers, Kotoha's magic is sometimes presented in bright pink. Due to Kotoha being Mother RaPaPa's successor and reincarnation, she contains the strongest magic of being able to make nature and even the universe flourish.

Unlike Mugic, magic can be accessibly learned by almost every individual when they put in enough effort. It can also reach its strongest when multiple individuals have their love and memories resounded.

Dark Magic, on the other hand, is a kind of evil magic that is mixed with the influence of Mugic but is still considered inferior compared to Mugic's dangerous powers.

Trivia[]

Although other seasons of the franchise all contain magical elements, magic is still most prominently used in Mahou Tsukai!.
Magic is mostly usable to humans of both Magic World and No Magic World, though those from the No Magic World need special permission to be granted a wand. Animals and other non-humans normally are not granted wands at all.
- Mofurun and Kumata are so far the only non-human characters who don't have a wand to use magic.
Even though magic is usually considered different from Dark Magic and Mugic, it can still be misused by certain individuals, such as the Sorceress from the Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure! Manga, who abused her magic to curse the merman prince Jade. The other example is Solcière, who summoned clones of past villains from the memories of Pretty Cure when she was manipulated by Trauuma into capturing them.
