Ichijo Ranko (一条らんこ Ichijō Ranko)^? is a minor character in Go! Princess Pretty Cure, a third year student at Noble Academy and is Kirara's spoiled rival. She works as a reporter for the television programme "Sunday GoGo".

Appearance[]

Ranko is a teenage girl who is older than Haruka and her friends but she looks much younger due to her cute appearance and shorter stature. She has big, feminine light brown eyes and bright auburn hair worn in curled twin-tails held by fuchsia bows. Her straightened bangs have a split in the middle and her forelocks frame her face.

Besides her uniform, she often wears a white long-sleeved blouse with crimped fabric on the chest and scalloped cuffs. Over this is a pink dress with mauve lining the bottom of the skirt and two buttons on frilly fabric that wraps around the shoulders, and a frilly white petticoat sticks out under her skirt. She wears dark cherry Mary-Janes with a short platform sole and bow at the ankle, paired with white frilly socks.

Personality[]

Ranko is a cute and innocent-looking type until she gets angered or when she goes after something she wants. She can be nasty and a sore loser, and despises Kirara due to her large popularity. Despite this, she later overcomes her rivalry and befriends Kirara.

Relationships[]

Amanogawa Kirara: Ranko dismisses Kirara as an underclassman and views Kirara as her rival, so she always tries to steal Kirara's spotlight (and then almost always fails). But she later puts down her grudge and befriends Kirara.

History[]

Ranko arrives at Marble Donuts, trying to draw attention to herself as a reporter who claims to have never heard of Kirara. Her attempts to impress Kirara fall flat, leading to tension between them. They both express their enthusiasm for Marble Donuts, and the Director decides they will compete in a series of challenges for the chance to try the new donuts.

In the first challenge, a mascot drawing contest, Kirara creates an elegant Donut Princess while Ranko's crude donut drawing surprisingly wins by prominence, leaving Kirara disheartened. The second challenge involves tasting and reporting on the donuts, where Kirara edges out a victory. For the final battle, they race in their self-designed donut costumes. Despite Ranko initially leading, her outfit causes her to tire first. Kirara pushes ahead but, despite losing, Ranko gets up to run to the goal, inspiring the onlookers with her determination.

Suddenly, Shut appears and seals Ranko’s dream of becoming an Idol, unleashing a Zetsuborg. The Cures defeat it, restoring Ranko's dream. Afterward, Kirara comments on Ranko's antics, while Minami reveals Ranko is a third-year student. Ranko vows to win next time, while Kirara expresses her desire to avoid the spotlight, leaving Haruka and the others feeling left out.^GPPC12

Ranko shares her surname with Ichijo Kazuki from Fresh Pretty Cure! and Ichijou Ranze from HUGtto! Pretty Cure.
Kaido Minami is the only person who has never miscalled her name.
Her mascot (which she made a costume out of it) is called Brave Donut (根性ドーナツくん, Rūtodōnatsu-kun)^?.
Shut once mistook her as a comedian because of her childishness and immaturity that made her dream about being an idol ridiculous.
She made a cameo in HUGtto! Pretty Cure♡Futari wa Pretty Cure: All Stars Memories, among some victims who have been affected by Miden's powers before reverting back to normal offscreen.
