Wonder Mail

Wonder Mail is a type of mail that is able to be flown by any bird Pokémon.

Wonder Mail is mostly used in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. The player uses this item to pick any mission he or she wants so long as they have the right Wonder Mail code.

During the process of using it, a Pelipper or Pidgey carries the mail to its destination.

In the games[]

Wonder Mail can be used to obtain items or Pokémon, without the need to go through the challenges that would be required to obtain them normally. With the help of a Wonder Mail generator, the challenge can be reduced even further by selecting 1F for an escort mission. The player can recruit a Pokémon of their choice by choosing the desired client and selecting "Recruit Client" as the reward. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness, some Pokémon cannot be recruited through Wonder Mail, such as Corphish, Chatot, and Grovyle. This is likely due to them being storyline characters, as so to prevent their names from appearing on the wanted outlaw board, as this could cause confusion among members of the guild. Because of this, it is impossible to recruit these Pokémon before reaching the point where they can be recruited normally or before unlocking Luminous Spring; for example, it is impossible to recruit Marill prior to unlocking Blizzard Island. All legendary Pokémon are also absent from Wonder Mail; this is to prevent the player from obtaining more than one of a legendary Pokémon species. Magnemite and Magnezone appear as the clients of many outlaw job missions, but cannot be added to the player character's team. Silcoon, Cascoon, and Kakuna are also unavailable as clients, perhaps due to them being static and unable to move in dungeons, so escort missions involving them would be nearly impossible.
